  • Another Theif Class Combo Question...

    Ok...

Now i dont think its the greatist idea...but it would be fun...and was just wondering if it could work ok, and what u would get for a stat boost...

    Thief / Dark Knight

ok ok...go ahead and say it weird...

...but it think, with work and some help, it could be cool...

    ...am i right?

    Thx for the sig TenTako!!

Tried it. Warrior was a lot better for damage, and you don't have enough manapool for the spells to matter.

If you want to be THF and DRK, then go DRK/THF. DRK is not a good sub for THF as none of its abilities enhance THF at all. Last resort would be useful with sa+ta+ws, but other than that, DRK sucks as sub. With DRK/THF, you get the powerful attack of DRK and the hate dumping abilities of THF. /THF is very useful for DRK as DRK gains a lot of hate easily, but since you can dump your hate onto the tank with /THF = problem solved. If you want to be THF as main job though, then be THF/NIN.

Forgot to mention that you will only be sucessfull with DRK/THF lvl 60+ because since ur sub is halved, THF will need to be 30 in order to get trick attack which you need to dump hate onto tank. So before lvl 60 DRK, go DRK/WAR.
        DRK 25 / WAR 30 / THF 25 / MNK 19

The biggest problem I had with thf/drk was using souleater. Souleater with a 200ish delay dagger... sucks. God help you if triple attack decides to go off at the wrong time.

In addition, last resort is only a 30 second duration. While it's great for ws+sa+ta, it doesn't help you much with the rest of your attacks.

With the limited manapool of a hybrid sub and the half-level casting skills, you won't be casting much, and when you do, it probably won't land anyway.

Overall, I found warrior to be a far better sub. You loose 1 passive atk upgrade and a 30sec last resort for double attack and a 3min duration berserk. Not to mention the incredibly handy provoke.
