Fuidama is the rear positional attack using sneak+trick.
The Line up looks like this:
T
S
M
C
Thief->Sucker->Mob->Chump
Chump gains hate on Mob, Mob faces Chump. Sucker lines up behind mob, directly opposite Chump. Thief performs fuidama on Sucker, causing large hate gain on Sucker.

Thats interesting. Let me get this straight. If you do sneak then trick while behind another party member, that party member "sucka" gains hate instead of the thief?
Thanks for the infoIf this dont make your booty move, your booty must be dead!

Sneak attack and Trick attack are not real 'attacks', they're self-buffs that have a duration of 1 minute or until discharged.
These two buffs will discharge on your next physical attack.
What makes fuidama work is that the effects of these various buffs and your phsyical attack all stack.
So you start by buffing sneak (huge damage from rear postional)
then add trick (large damage, all hate from attack is transferred to the player in front of you)
and then execute dancing edge (physical attack weapon skill)
The end result is about a 700+ damage attack that dropped all the hate onto the person you were hiding behind, which then allows you to dance off and find something else to butcher.

to clarify, since i didn't get this when i first started either, trick attack multiplies the damage of your next attack if you attack from behind another person. the monster then thinks that person is the one that hit it.
that's why the hate is put on that person, not some other random effect created by using sneak and trick together

pug, i think that first part is incorrect. Sneak is what multiplies damage when you are standing behind the mob. Trick just transfers hate from your attack onto the person you are standing behind. Doesn't matter what way a mob is facing for a trick.
The reason why ppl stand behind the mob for a trick is so we can stack a sneak ontop of it for more damage. Technically, we can trick anywhere.
Thanks Yyg!

...i know. sneak multiplies the damage more, and you have to be behind the mob, bleh.
but ta also adds a multiplier of it's own. not nearly as much as sneak, but that's why when you stack the two you get way more dmg than if you used them seperately

now with the advent of the AF-Two series (to differentiate from AF2 quest)
thieves will get to play with lots of enemenity it seems. I am curious as to how trick actually transfers hate now. So trick will transfer just that one hit or will trick transfer all of the thief's hate?
I guess if you do manage to pull agro with all the +emenenity gear, you can always hide and save your own butt but the recharge timer makes me think that wouldn't be a terribly viable plan. Any ideas? And I also have no clue why you would have +chr, shouldn't that be +dex??? (typo?)75/bst, 60/smn, 51/rdm, 46/whm, 40/blm, 37/nin, 37/thf, 37/war, 32/sam, 25/brd, 10/pld, 7/mnk
