I've been hearing from a lot of people elsewhere that a DRK/THF levels 60 and higher pretty much replaces a thief entirely. Is this true? They say a DRK/THF covers hate control due to their high damage negating nerfed sub abilities, and also does much better damage normally than a THF.

I've been wanting to take THF/NIN as high as I could, but hearing all this is kind of disheartening. Is a DRK/THF really better overall at 60+ than a THF/NIN? Takes care of thf's most important role, hate control, /and/ does way more damage?

Drk/thf can *fill in* for a Thf, but doesn't *replace* a Thf.

As far as skill chain goes THF can eaisly be replaced by DRK MNK and some of the other attackers after 60. The problem with sub thf is these classes need to use their ws to generate enough damage to put hate on tank, THF main can do this with just a normal attack DRK and MNK cant. So yes your less usefull skill chain wise but you still control hate better then any other job.

If thf was stuck with VB even at lvl 60, then yes, you can say a lvl 60+ drk/thf could "replace" a thf in terms of damage and hate control. But SE was smart and decided to not kill thfs once drks hit 60 and gave thf a very cool weapon skill called dancing edge.
