  • THFs in PvP

I was wondering how well THF would do in PvP. me for myself would like to be a THF/NIN, since i like the damage they deal and the armor they can wear.
But i think THF/NIN lacks in melee power after the first sa + ta + vb.

does one of you have further informations about the PvP system and THFs?

    thx for your inputs.
even a small mistake can make an empire break!

No one has any information on PVP, due to the fact that it still doesn't exist.

Anything at this point is pure speculation.

in my opinion if PVP does come out THF's are going to have a serious disadvantage....

since you are fighting against a real person they would anticipate sneak and would not turn their backs to you, ...

TA becomes completly useless unless u have 2 other ppl helping you.

and the only viable way i think a thf can even strike with SA is if he subs WHM.

Then /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>, cast invisible and run behind the opponent, drop invis and hit quickly....

You dork. Thieves have hide ability.

Due to the fact that Invis or hide wears off if you do any abilites here is the order you do it in. BTW: Sam sub.

        Tonzura
        Sneak
        Trick
        TP Concentration
        Hide
All can be done in less than a few seconds.
Take off behind opponent, engage, and do WS with sneak and trick on it.

Too bad Trick attack would be useless without another person.

SA + VB still does nice damage... and with Dancing Edge at 60 you would do even more damage

forgive me if im wrong but isnt the point of having another person when using Trick Attack is so that argo wont come directly upon you? as long as you can hit him from behind yuo should be fine right?

i dont think we are gonna fair to well in 1 on 1 type things, but dont you need a full alliance to enter pvp? then we might be able to fuidama good, doesnt matter though, rngs are gonna slay everyone lol

you guys are forgetting that THF's get Evasion Boosts and their evasion is pretty high as it is w/o the boosts so do you honestly think that you will get hit that often by some one who is essentially an even match to you? i think not. and if we wont miss as mich because of our dex. so we can gain tp quickly by using daggers then just hit viper bite or dancing edge for some good dmg, not to mention that we *may* get to steal from the players.
                    just my speculation.

i doubt steal will be allowed.

as for evasion boosts its as good as resistance to bind which is NIL

I know this is a old topic, but with the new pvp info out and it being party vs party too, i think thieves will do pretty well.
