  • Rings/Earring

    Hello! This is my first time posting on this board. First of all I have looked and havn't been able to find the answear to me question.

    I'm about to hit lvl 10I'm THF and I'm wondering witch rings/earrings I should use. I do have enough for Physical earring that tanks 25mp to hp, but I'm not sure if that would work, or even be good for a THF.

    Also I'm wondering how you get a gah. I forgot what the name of its called. It's somthing charm Adds 1 def 1 agi 1 dex and +1 to steal lvl 7 neck piece (If my memory serves me right).

    Well thank you for any replays!

    hihi^^

    at level 10 i will admit to not using any earring nor rings (save my starting nation ring)

    untill level 14 (dex+1 rings) i see no real item for these slots that is really worth spending money on.. although mp>hp rings would be items you may wish to look into if you have heart set on rings now^^ ..

    with earrings i waited untill 21 untill purchasing beetle earrings... but you would be able to get some bone at level 16.. otherwise i see only minor hp increases as your option, which is not something i see as important as thief.. (please note that i am unaware of earring that will allow for 25mp>hp at level of 10)

    the charm you refer to is dropped by a named monster in the area of west ronfaure (sandoria area, spelling may be incorrect ) the monster is a bunny names jaggedy earred jack.. alternatly.. you may purchase charm.. but it may cost from 150,000~300,000gil ><;;

    i hope you find some of this information useful

      Just a little note about HP/MP items...if it says something like "HP+10 MP-10", you can use it even if you don't have any MP to begin with, but if it's "Converts 25 MP to HP", then it will only convert as much MP as you have -- if your job gives you no MP, and you only have 3MP from some other item, you'll only get 3 additional HP.

          why is this thing so expensive????

          is the +1 steal all that important?

          I feel that spiked necklace with +3 str and +2 dex is much better than +1 dex +1 agi at pretty much all thf levels cause sa and ta both use your base damage in calculations anyway.

          plz explain the logic of spending 300k on this item
          75/bst, 60/smn, 51/rdm, 46/whm, 40/blm, 37/nin, 37/thf, 37/war, 32/sam, 25/brd, 10/pld, 7/mnk

            nothing other than thf af gives stats to boost steal rate. Rabbit charm is a lvl 7 necklace which boosts steal rate. This is why it's so expensive. That and because JJ never drops.

              It's because it's so rare it's nearly a myth.

              I've spent way too many hours trying to get him, it's my greek challenge.

              With TH1- 0/5
              With TH2- 0/2

              But then again, I have astonishingly bad luck with NMs. With my track record on NM drops, my LS has taken to nicknaming me Treasure Killer.

              ><

              But anyhow, back to the topic, pick up HQ versions of the Dex rings at 14 (Balance Rings). They'll be 15-25k each depending on server economy, but more than worth it. You'll be able to keep those until you can finally afford HQ versions of the lvl36 Dex ring. The other support for getting the HQ rings will you'll be using them for all your melee subs. Always look for ways to make your cash go as far as possible.

              As far as earrings.. wear whatever trash you like until 21, then get Beetle Earrings +1. Again, you'll wear them for your melee subs later as well. Once you get 36, get Drone Earrings.

              Necklace.. hell, I was lazy on this one. Go to San d'Oria and do the church quest for the Wing Pendant. That'll last you until 21 for Spike Necklace. I also recommend doing the S.O.B. quests for the Justice Badge. You'll want it for when you sub whm to level up other jobs.

                Short version:

                Earrings - Shell Earrings -> Bone +1 (level 16) -> Beetle +1 (level 21) -> Drone Earrings (level 34)

                Rings - Balance Rings (level 14) -> <forgot name> (level 36 +3 Dex Rings) -> <forgot name> (level 54 +4 Dex rings)

                Necklace - Justice Badge -> Spike Necklace (level 21)
                Wing Pendent gives +1 Agi, but since you don't have trick attack until 30, I'd say 1def is better than 1agi.
