  • How do I stack WS with Sneak?

    I tried the macro -

    /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>
    /ws "Fast Blade" <t>

And it didn't work. I was wondering if I will just have to have seperate macros for each and then use the WS right after I hit Sneak? Thanks for the help.

Some people use /wait 1 so it depends on your computer, but most use /wait 2

Yup. You need to wait for SA to activate before you use the Weapon Skill.

When you use Sneak attack... it takes a few moments for the Sneak attack to "turn on", while Fast Blade happens almost immediately.

Personally, I have a Fast Blade macro and a SA macro, and I simply activate SA, wait a couple seconds, then activate the Fast Blade one. Works pretty easily.

If you do end up having 2 seperate macros for sneak and fast blade, make sure you time the sneak right after a regular swing. Otherwise a regular swing might "sneak" out before your fast blade does.

For renkei purposes I have a sneak macro and a WS macro that looks like this:

/p Executing Fast Blade in 3 seconds
          /wait 1
          /a <bt>
          /wait 2
          /ws "Fast Blade" <bt>

If mid-battle, I CTRL-A to disengage, get into position (if need be) and hit my WS macro. Only if a mage casts a spell on me or there's a lag-spike does the macro fail on me. For the time being this also allows me to pre-empt my sneak and get 2 boosts stacked before unleashing my WS. The extra damage the sneak+ws deals with the boosts makes up for the 15 seconds I'm not engaged in the battle.

Once I hit 30, my macro will also work very nicely for opening a battle with sneak+trick and plant the hate on the main tank.

i strongly recommend to have separate macros for SA and WS. and u don't need to put /wait 3 in between the /p "whatever in 3 sec" and /ws coz it's not just needed. thf usually finishes renkei, so no need to let others know when u r executing it. if u still rather have others informed, then create another macro. that way, u can do 1. /p executing "ws" in a sec, 2. SA, 3. WS.

having SA and WS with /wait 1 or 2 in bewtween in the same macro sometimes doesn't work well, especially if u r using daggers which have a short weapon delay. so it's best to press 2 macros in order, quickly, that is.
