Getting Tanks to not move the target

I hit 15 tonight and I did the MOST damage in the group, but I noticed that the enemy moved around a lot. This only interupted sneak once, but I would like it to be easier , so should I just ask one tank to provoke or something, because I can see how this would become a problem with BLMs.

That's why it's best to get at least 2-3 tanks , even in Valkurm where dead bodies show up all the time and poor blm Tarus get picked on becuase of their size :p .

In good parties this won't be as much of an issue. Sometimes you need to think ahead to when an enemy might run towards the mages and prepare your strategy appropriately.

In bad parties you'll encounter tanks that will constantly move around the enemy trying to get around to hit them from behind. I remember this one party I had the misfortune of joining, I blew numerous sneaks due to the tanks moving around.

The other problem is when tanks don't try to move an enemy away from the mages and when mages don't realize that perhaps it might be easier if they were to give some ground. It often leads to the white mage being damaged from an AoE or from the fact that it won't take as long for the enemy to move within range to hit the mage.

I hoping as I leave the dunes behind, I'll also be leading these problems that present themselves for us thieves. We need our target to be stationary to properly use our sneak.

Which weapon were you using to do enough dmg comparable to your tanks ? I realize that unless I do my sneak attack I only do about 0-8 dmg ... Quite pathetic , I'm a lvl 15 Mithra THF btw using a brass xiphos.

I was getting frustrated the other day too cause the 2 tanks we had in our party were running around like fools high on cocoa puffs the snippers were going up trees and mountains, they weren't quick on their provoke either.

Legionaires Knuckles and Sapara, I did the most damage. Like on snippers, most of my group does 9 damage, while I do 31 - 40, and 60. Now, snippers have really high defense so this is good.
