Theif Equipment in Windrust

Hiya folks, I've been leveling my theif and earned quite a bit of gils. Probably got over 20,000 gils at level 12 but no equipments to spend it on. The city Windrust doesn't offer me a good supply of equipments for my theif on my server. I check the auction house everytime I login and before I log off. Does the Bastok or San Doria offer a better supply of equipments at their auction house? Also, how do I get to Bastok and San Doria without an airpass? Thanks.

yeah I dont know either I do see some stuff on my server but it all in the auction house. But choices are very limited in what ppl are willing to sell.

the best gear for a thief at level 12 would be the level 11 cloth stuff (doublet, brais, gloves, gaiters, headgear) which are sold at the armor shop in windhurst port. easily bought in auction house, or can be made with clothecraft(the clothecraft guild is in windhurst woods)
probably dump the headgear for a compound eye circlet which is a reward for a windhurst walls quest.
probably want an elm shield which can be bought at the port shop or auction house too.

best weapon choices around that level are probably scimitar and knife. i see both of them in auction house a lot.

the gear made from bonework and clothecraft is great thief gear and both guilds are in windhurst

maybe you just not looking hard enough =/

Excellent post by Haruko the Alie.. I have to look into that quest for the head gear.. Anyhow I do check with the auction house before looking with the NPCs cuz it might be cheaper with the auction house..

I'm on Lakshmi, and for that lvl, I bought a set of Royal Footmans armor, boots, and gloves. Some nice elemental defense, and +3 attack on the gloves. You could also do the legioner equipment. Brass Subligur at lvl 11 for the leggs. That should set you up until lvl 16, when you can hopefully find some +1 bone equipment. Definately get that compound eye circlet too. Also, do the starfall quest in ports to get a fish shield. Gives +4 def, some fire and water defense, and a negetive on wind elements. Lvl 14 though, but a good sheild.

I never do quests :\ perhaps I should.

Anyway, I use doublet and leather stuff, mainly because I;m too poor for other things/too lazy to find quests. I'm also saving up for my legionaires mittens (+3 attack) and trying to get money for the +1 dex ring, since sneak attack is so close. Doublet is secksay, I can't believe you don't want a doublet.
