  • hand-to-hand weapons delay question

when i see knucles.. they seem to have +80s and 90s delay, and most even have accuracy +s
when i see... those claw looking ones,.. they seem to have same, or 1 or so more damage, same level requirement, and about +60s delay...
so which is better? knucles? or those.. tiger claw looking ones?
i thought +delay makes you attack faster, but those two.. to me it SEEMS like knucles are alot better to me.. but hey what do i know? im just a level 7 noob =/

Well hand to hand is alot slower than normal melee weapons like a sword. Its +60 to your default delay..DOnt ask me what default is becuase i dont know. Also just check out which one does more damage and adds to stats. I doubt a claw is supierior to another grapple just becuase of what it looks like

There is a thread in the monk that discusses this. Basically, normally you only have a weapon delay (say 225 for a wax sword). When you use h2h, you have an innate delay, by default it's very high.

      From a post by Spuncan:
      MA0 480

Now, monks get special pasive abilities to reduce this delay:
      MA1 400(Lv1)
      MA2 380(Lv16)
      MA3 360(Lv31)
      MA4 340(Lv46)
      MA5 320(Lv61)

So even with a Weapon that has a delay of 91, a lv.61 monk will attack faster than your Thief with no weapon equipped at all.

Anyway, that's why the delay on h2h is Delay+ instead of just Delay.

Weapon choice for h2h is always hard becasue you have to balance accuracy+ or attack+ with damage. The monk AF weapon is only DMG+4, but it's accuracy and DEX boosts make it more worth it. Depending on your race and stat issues, you may choose lower DMG, Lower Delay weapons for a better damage over time output.
