Sneak/trick attack question

can't say for sure, as i don't have sneak, or trick attack yet, buuuut...

from what i've gathered, sneak attack gets massive hate placed on the one doing it. then sneak attack tricks the monster into putting all that hate on the tank you're supposed to be standing behind.

and about the sneak attack targeting thing, i've read that you have to be actually behind the mob, but i can't say for sure... :confused:

For sneak attack, you just have to be out of the enemy's line of sight, not actually behind them. Being behind is easiest, but being just barely out of line of sight is required for yokodama (well, unless for some reason the main tank doesn't have hate).

Just to clarify this again: Yokodama is using both sneak and trick attack together to give massive hate to the main tank (usually PLD). The reason it's so complicated is because the tank has to be between you and the enemy, and you have to be out of the enemy's line of sight. Since the enemy will probably already be facing the tank, you have to position yourself in just the right location to get the benefit of both special attacks at once.
