  • THF/MNK vs. THF/NIN

(Haven't seen a thread for this yet. If I missed it, let me know)

So I'm hearing a lot about how badass Thief's WS's are and Treasure Hunter2 and this and that, save for the "rewardless"-ness of not getting new armors, etc. It's got meh 'tinkin.

Which in everyone's opinion would get more attention for PTs and such?

    THF/MNK or THF/NIN?

    'Tanks!
    Alright.... who farted?

Well...THF/MNK you get a HP boost and you really dont need that in PT's (Since you find that usually 95% of the time you will never get attacked). And THF/NIN get's TP alot faster becuase of the double daggers (If they actually hit). If you wanted to go either way you should raise MNK-->THF-->Then get the Ninja quest done with THF/MNK and raise Ninja to be your sub lol....just my opinion.

        bump

I'd like some more info on this as well, if possible.

Anyone else have anything to add about the pros and cons of a THF/MNK and THF/NIN?

        Thanks.

Maybe an extra 5% if you kill the monster with your second swipe.

          thf/monk with hand-to-hand until 33,
thf/nin with dagger and dex sword 33-apocalypse.

also with monk you get boost. Which I usualy keep powering up inbetween fights, then combine that with sneak attack. Does a good bit more.

Also you get dodge, and Thiefs are already good at dodging, so that makes then really hard to hit.

Monk /thief works. Monks have pretty powerful attacks, which means it would go nicely with sneak attack. Also Thief helps you hit more, which monks can sometimes have problems with.
You will mainly spend a bunch of your time just in combat pure fighting till 30 when you get sneak attack. THen moving around some to get the monsters back.

Thief/monk is a little more tactical I guess. Have to keep powering up boost, then doing all the thief stuff, and aggro balance. I personally think this combo would be a lot of fun.

Thief/ninja is also another good combo. Get all the regular thief stuff plus dual weild, and some cool spells. So one again another fun combo.

So basicly comes down to, if you want to do more heavy fighting. Do monk thief. If you want a big attack every minute, and balabnce aggro a bit, then do thief as your main. Subbing monk gives you boost which will make your sneakk attack ect more powerful, plus dodge which will make you super hard to hit. Subbing ninja gives you dual weild which makes your regular attack damage so up, as well as your sneak attack (not as much as it would with bosst I think), but then again you also get the powders which are cool and fun to play with.
