  • Summoner Race

Hey everyone! I am thinking about maiking a new character and makin it a summoner...Which race is more reliable Hume or Mithra??? I think humes look the best in the AF but im not sure which gender either?!?! If u would tell me your opinion and post a pic of ur summoner if u have one thank you!

They both have the same MP and basic stats overall (nothing that will affect you as a Smn) -- So it's up to you - Do you like being a sneaky cat or a dull hume?

I also Have an Elvaan Male War:30, PLD20 and Monk 12...Would an Elvaan Summoner be ok with proper MP boosts such as ELectrum Rings and Other MP boosting things....If u are a Elvaan SMN please respond and tell me the ups and down of being elvaan

Elf SMN has nothing going for him, except for maybe like 12 points of MND over TT. The MP stat, which is a SMN's main staple, is pretty atrocious even with MP boosts.

not really. at lv49, elvaan smn freind had only about 60 less mp. Considering that I usually didnt use more than 200 mp in one fight, it wont really matter. elvaans also have the 'style' that the other races dont

I plan on being an Elvaan summoner I don't really mind all that much the lack of MP. I mean I could wait till I get good enough money to buy decent items to boost my MP. Then when my culinary gets good enough I can make food to boost my MP for a period of time.

Elvaan smn59 here. Elvaan smn have enough mp to be a good smn, as long as they have the right equipment!

With all + mp equipment I have 810 mp.

                  Part of my equipment:
                  2X astral rings,
                  Forest stone
Full (well almost full, can't wear the head thingy yet) AF
                  Fortune egg
and some earrings and neck equip that give me about + 18 mp

I usually switch my AF gloves and feet with my RSE gloves/boots to give me even more mp ^^

A taru smn at my level has about 150 mp more. But you don't really need that much mp. I usualy only use about 200 mp each battle and at the next start of the battle my mp is almost as good as full again (when a brd/rdm is in the party offcourse ^^)

Only using a nin to tank or something?

I burn a ton healing the pld >.<

With nin tanks and earthen ward it feels like much less than 200 mp (because you rest up some while waiting for timer)

As for what to choose for summoner, it's obvious. Female
I actually think it would have been so much more classical if only females had the option of becoming a summoner. But I know, you have to bend some traditions for the huge masses.

As for actual race, I'd pick the one I like the looks of best.

Actually summoner is not gender specific for female except FF9-FF10 so I dont know where its tradition its a femal job. FFVII, FFVIII, and older ffs, it was all genders not just female. Two out of 11 games wouldn't be called traditon. No jobs in FF that I ever saw were ever gender specific for that matter.

But back to topic of races for summoner: I think HUME race fits Summoner job pretty well. Hume race can do any job decent and never be below average in any job unlike other races. They just wont be mp masters like Tarutaru.
