What is Searing Light?

I'm a new SMN (level 11) and I only have Carbuncle, unfortunately.

I've done the 2hr and searing light but I can't tell what it does or how it works. I read it was a buff, but when I did it, mine did Damage. Also, everytime I've done it, my MP afterwords was 0. So I'm confused about how this 2hr works so if someone could explain it, I'd really appreciate it ^^

wherever you read that Searing Light, or any other avatar's 2 hr. ability for that matter, is a buff or debuff ability is wrong. when you use Astral Flow you should already have your avatar out and Assaulting the mob for best time efficiency. pop astral flow before your MP dips below the threshold of using the 2 hr ability (2 x your current level, or 22 mp for your lvl 11 char.) when you use the ability your MP will drain to 0 regardless of what the amount was before. Also most damage will be dealt if you stand with your avatar as it uses their mega attack. Damage also is relative to your Summoning Magic Skill level so you should always keep it capped if possible.

After you use the avatar's mega attack release it, pop a juice or yagudo drink to regen MP faster and kneel (or use ethers) and recover enough MP to use the ability again when your Blood Pact recharges since Astral Flow lasts 3 minutes you can, ideally, use the mega attack 3 times while Astral is up.
