Really confused about fame for Trial Size quests

I'm getting pretty close to level 20 with my SMN and will be doing my avatar quests soon. But I'm still pretty confused about the fame required to do these quests and the fame system for outlands cities in general. This is the best fame chart I've seen so far...

1.) What level of fame do you need? I keep getting different messages when I search around. Some say level 3 in quest's city, some say level 4. And some people say you don't need any fame at all!

2.) How do you increase fame in the outland cities of Rabao (Garuda), Kazham (Ifrit) or Mhaura (Ramuh)? I've looked at lots of fame charts and they all look pretty alike. They say that doing quests in these cities will increase fame in the 3 major cities, but does it work both ways? If I increase fame in both Bastok and San d'Oria, does that increase my Rabao fame?

Thanks. I wanna know 'cause I'd be really pissed if I traveled all the way to Rabao for Garuda only to find out I didn't have enough fame. :sweat:

Mhaura and Kazham are both Windurst.

Rabao is Bastok I think. (I am not certain)

My suggestion to u is this, get Shiva(SanD), Titan(Bastok). Ramuh(Mhaura, windy fame), and Ifrit(Kahzam, also Windy fame) first. Then all u have to worry about is fame for Tenshodo and Jueno. Tenshodo is really easy to get especially if you are in Windy. Jueno fame is based on the average of the other 3 major cities and I do beleive that fame is for Garuda. I know that Levithan is Norg and that is Tenshodo fame. Good luck any other questions just let me know.

Garuda is Rabao fame, which is equal to Selbina fame, which is based on Bastok and San d'Oria fame. If you can get both Titan and Shiva you can generally get Garuda too.

General rule of thumb for fame, which is a lot simpler than trying to break down what numerical value it requires, and what numerical value you have:

- If you can get the quest, you have enough fame.
- If you cannot, you do not have enough fame, so raise your fame there by whatever method most appeals to you.

All the messages do will give you a guideline of about how much fame-raising you can get, and honestly it's just as easy to check with the NPC to try to start the quest, as it is to check the fame NPC.

For the Trial Sized Avatar Battles you do not need fame. You just need to talk to them as a level 20+ Summoner to get the mini-tuning fork.

I say this since I went to Mhaura and was not able to get the Key Item Tuning Fork for the regular Avatar Battle, however I was still able to get the Mini-Tuning Fork and go fight Ramuh.

But it's still good to get your fame up since you'll need it to get the Whispers from the regular battles in order to get the Fenrir fight available.

You can get the Trial size as a level 15+ SMN, I was shown. Not sure of fame, but my level 16 SMN friend went to take pictures of Shiva. I have rank 8 fame most places, so I can't really test anything.
