  • Usefulness of /recast?

With the last patch, we were given a really nice (in theory, at least) command, called /recast. It gives the time remaining before a certain ability becomes usable again - also works with spells, like /recast "Fire" works, and /recast "Provoke" works. If the ability is free, it shows up as [Provoke] 0:00, and if time remaining, [Provoke] 0:15, etc. People are singing the praises of this command, so I decide to make a nice macro - I mean, what a great benefit to summoners!

So, last night I try the following: /recast "Aerial Armor" - this shows up as [Aerial Armor] --:--. Same if I try /recast "Blood Pact" - [Blood Pact] --:--. I know if you misspell something, it just gives an error, so these *should* be valid uses of the command...but they don't work!

Am I doing this wrong, or is a bug report due for Squenix? This command has *such* potential...

the '--:--' shows up when that spell is unavailable. You can see this when trying to get the timer for a spell that your current Job/Sub can't cast.

For the timers on the pet's abilities, you need to have a pet first; summon up a pet and then the /recast time shows up correctly.

Meh, so it's really useful for summoners in an exp PT, who want to know when they should stand up and summon again =(

I love it as my RDM. Many of my long recast spells now have this command.

        IE
        /echo Refresh
        /recast Refresh
        /ma Refresh <stpc>
        /wait 22
        /echo Refresh Ready

So if I use another macro and mess up my reminder, I can hit this again and see how long I have to wait to cast another refresh.

Also very nice for aspir and drain.
