  • Fame level for Low Level Avatars

    I was quite shocked today... I had built up fame in the past doing cabbage runs for Titan, Garuda and Shiva, after successfully doing those in the low level battles I decided to move on to Leviathan, Ifrit and Ramuh... which I have 0 fame for both windurst and tenshodo, however I went to check just to see... went to Kazham and low and behold I got the mini fork of fire, went to norg and at first I didn't get the quest but then I realized it was because I had switched to my high level job to travel to norg so I switched to SMN and got the mini fork of water, tried leviathan and got owned before I could even two hour so I tried Ifrit and he used Inferno on me right after he killed carb with him at about 1/8. Anyway, point is... yeah... you don't even have to build fame anymore...

      Wow...both your fights sounds like every single time I've fought Ramuh. That bastard has killed me 3 times now. (1st time was a bad call on my part. I thought he used Judgment Bolt. He told me he didn't use it yet by using it on me.)

      Second fight I was experimenting with a new sub, PLD. He decided to start the ****ing fight off by paralyzing me. Then I found out that you can't use juices while paralyzed...and you loose the juice too. That forced my hand and I tried to Searing Light him to death...but Carbuncle decided he really didn't want to do that move anyways. (He did the animation...it just did no damage.) @_@

      Last fight was going well...until everything went wrong at once. I noticed I had been fighting for about 10 minutes now, and figured I should try to wrap it up before I run out of time. I used astral flow, Searing Lighted him...ran. He then laughed a bit, mentioned how cute it was, killed the rat. (EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention refresh wore off just now, with me at 10MP. Thankfully I had ethers.) I summoned the mighty neon rat to my side once more, blood pact still un-usable. He then Judgement Bolted Carbuncle right after I summoned him. I then just cursed because I had 10 seconds remaining until I could cast carbuncle and Ramuh was right next to me. I gave him my /salute and died before I could even try to cast carbuncle.
      (I should mention, that fight Ramuh decided to Thunder II me randomly, about 4 times, so my HP wasn't exactly high.)
      Generic Info!

          I have lvl 5 fame in Bastok and went to the NPC with my lvl 11 SMN to take a peek at Titan (No way in hell I was gonna win, just wanted to see the battle for myself.) But the guy wouldn't let me. He just talked about "Chaneling your failures" or something, and wouldn't give me a mini-fork, warp me to the crystal, anything. I have accepted the Ifrit and Ramuh normal quests, so today I'm going to go and see if I can get the Ramuh mini-fork. Maybe you have to be lvl 20+ just to get the mini-fork.

            I think you do need to be 20 to get the quest, off topic a little I managed to beat all of the low level avatars finally today (except Shiva who I got the old fashioned way) and I really think if you can do these battles you deserve them... When I did Shiva the high level way it was just "wanna come get sihva" "Sure." walk over to fei yin, jump in crystal, do a little nuking and healing, kill her, and that's it, easy. But these low level battles... I've spent a TON of gil on each fight, and I lost to all of the avatars at least once (Titan killed me 4 times -.-)

              Ah crap. =/ Geuss I'll lvl SMN to 20 sometime soon then. I really wanted to try. ; ;

              Also, Can anyone tell me where to get the carbuncle gloves? Is it a quest or just a rare drop? I really want to get the avatars for my SMn so I can FINALLY start it. And ditch my DRG (my original plan was to get DRG to 60, for AF and Avatars, but due to the latest gimping patch, I might just drop it. I decided that SMN intrigued me when I toyed with it about around lvl 40. Been obsessed ever since!) I'll lvl my SMN up and give it a shot, I have some friends that can craft me the food and potions necessary.

                Carbuncle Mitts are from a forced spawn NM in the Temple in yhoatar, you need two PTs of 65+ to kill it... These would own for low level battles, too bad by the time you can atually get them you can go along on high level battles and do those easy >.>

                  Oh well that sucks and swallows. (>.<); I'm going to get SMN to 20 and try these battles. I was just gotta get to 60-65 to do it the easy way, but Jinjo, you have given me hope. ^^

                      Well... I knew about this gimped out effect when they did it... because I got Shiva, Titan, and Garuda the same way.

                      BUT, it does not matter if someone has all the summons... It all matters on the skill on the SMN. if the SMN is a totall noob... he will suck balls... if he is a good player, he will be well liked!
