Ok, I know that you can get the new quest by talking to the NPC who is close to the npc who gives the original quest. Then I also heard that the new npc will teleport you into the closier? You trade the new item to the closier to activate the 20 avatar fight correct... how ever if you go inside without trading you face the original version (the 60+ one) of the avatar... This means... does the trip to closier will actually end? Since part of the pain is to get to the closier itself... (Liviathan, ifirit and such) Just A thought...

Wouldn't you be stuck in the body of a level 20 SMN? I mean, I suppose if you were getting a free ride through the avatar and had a group there already...it wouldn't matter.

Yep, no more trip to the cloister - PROVIDED that the members of the lvl 60+ PT all have a lvl 20 summoner already (I assume they have the fame required). You are ported to the Cloister, and not capped till you trade the mini-fork.
HOWEVER - this will only work for people who plan on defeating the avatars AS SUMMONERS. You won't get ported unless you are main job summoner!
Don't forget to trade it - first time, I went in solo as a 55 smn against a 65 ifrit =P
