not at all, i just see ppl asking question about fame, just look at my lvl, who will think i know all that at my lvl

iam just new to this game and try to help ppl, you talk about credit, but i never mention nothing about that, i didint post the link because it's coming from a nother FFXI web page thats all

All the fame messages are totally wrong as well - rough translations of JP version.

Every single one of those fame messages is absolutely worthless. Why do they get reposted over and over? You have to wonder if any of these people putting together these fame guides have actually done any fame work at all.

Your should just remove those from your post. People trying to compare what the fame NPC's say to those messages are going to be confused.

here is a list that has been verified
Each city has 9 levels of fame. A '?' preceding the fame saying means I'm sure of the saying but unsure of the exact level.

Windurst (fame check NPC: windurst waters F-10 - Zabirego-Hajigo)
1) Cyndane? Hmm... Sorry, but I never heard that name before.
2) Cyndane? Hmm... Now, was that the name of the...? No, that was some other lady.
3) Oh, you're the Squink that people are starting to talk about. I've heard pretty good things about you.
4) Why, if it isn't Squink! I heard some guys talking about you over their dinners at the eatery last night. They had nothing but good things to say about you. Keep up the good work!
5) Hello there, Squink! There aren't many Windurstians who don't know that name. We're all proud to have you on our side! Keep up the great work!
6) Mister Squink! You'd have to be living in a hole somewhere not to have heard that name. All the bards in the land are singing songs of your outstanding deeds. Keep up the extraordinary work!

I would also like to add one more thing - Where it says that La Theine cabbages help out Rabao fame:

It does. It also raises San'Doria and Bastok at the same time. Don't waste your time doing separate fame quests for these two cities - this quest will cover all three.

This really gives fame in both places? That good news as I am looking to raise fame very soon for my Teleport spells and Avatars. Thx for the tip.

Yep - seeing as I had really low fame in San and Bast, and none for Selbina...so I can vouch for this, as I now have max in all three places.

However, it took roughly 2500 cabbages to get this - lots of nekkid mithra runs =)

Hi guys.

I just wanted to share something with you guys.

Last night I completed my aritfact glove part. Well this morning I ran past the NPC Mendi and I talked to him and he said "Lord Zempten......". I was pretty sure I only had lvl 7 fame at the moment. So I think it jumped about 1 lvl just by doing that AF quest. I just thought I might share with you. Hope it helps

i did cabbages quest and i now i have titan quest shiva quest and i can get garuda quest. Is there any type of quest i can do that covers fame for more avatars at once? like, is there a mhaura quest that will get me ifrit and ramuh? i dont kno wat else i should do for fame. Migho amigo seems so expensive

you can do one of the following:

Crawler Calculi
Beehive Chip
Corenette

The first is the slowest, the second is the fastest, and the third is somewhere in between.

The first is the cheapest, the third is the second cheapest, and the second is *by far* the most expensive.

Calculi - 3 needed per repeat, unstackable, 600g given for turn in (usually 200-250 per on the AH).

Corenette - 1 needed per repeat, unstackable, ~200g given for turn in (usually ~200 per on the AH).

Beehive Chip - 3 needed per repeat, stackable, 150g given for turn in (maybe 200) - stack goes for 2,800-3,000.

If you're in a hurry, do the beehive chip. If you don't mind making multiple multiple naked runs, do one of the others. Took me 21 stacks of beehive chips to go from just under Warp II fame all the way to rank 8 fame.
