SAM/THF vs. SAM/WAR?

What are the pros and cons of each one? I'm leaning towards SAM/THF because I suspect that I would do massive damage, but would I live long enough to do it, and would I be useful in parties? I think a SAM/WAR would be good, but I think there will be alot of those, but would it be better than a SAM/THF. Any feedback will be much appreciated

if you took away taunt from war i'd go with thief over war anyday. if i didn't have to tank i'd go with the Sam/Thf combo honestly.

Thanks for responding guys. I figured warrior would be better, but the skills for thief sound reallly good with the samurai. I mean imagine starting a renkei and then ending it with deceiving attack plus backstab or maybe the other way around *drools* I think I will just level up warrior and thief and just switch those two as my subjobs. If I get into a group that doesn't need me to tank than I'll be a heavy damage dealer.

if you want HIGH DAMAGE take thief support

with SAM's already powerful power, SAM/WAR is the only idea i got for PT

I value WAR's *double attack* a lot higher than THF's critical-hit-every-1-minute abilities for Samurai. I don't want a crappy 15-20% atack power boost I have to wait that long for my SAM to use.

my main jop is thief now but after 7 days i will take

samurai and i am now solo my WAR lv3

yeah this is very true - but in order to get *double attack* with the sam war combo your sam needs to be level 50. but yeah very true about the attack pattern for sam.

But you can't think so negative on theif you can always get extra gil..

extra gil in a level up PT means nothing... you join PT to level up, not to find money. being able to fight the best you can is what important.

if you go solo, go ahead and use THF for easier money. that's the proper time for it.

Xiphoid, the 4 point difference in STR is nothing. You need to check the abilities of each job.
