Ok, I've just started SAM on my Elvaan, what i'm here for is to ask...
Are Invites higher up really THAT bad?
When i began playing SAM everyone started telling me about how i was gonna suffer from invites, this and that... and now that i am finally scared (kinda) I want to ask the seasoned or mid-lvl SAM's is this a fact or just another rumor?

Every bit of info will be greatly appreciated,

No more then any other malee. Right now im 65 and sometimes im seeking for ages, other times i get a pt within a minute.

Yeah, Most melees have the same trouble. There is only a select few melees that don't feel it as badly, key thing is really seek out a method or way that works for you and makes you better then the average SAM player.

Build a good reputation off that and you won't have much trouble.

Not gona sugar coat it, from 65-71 i've never experienced such a lack of invites, and made me make my first PT of all times. Record was 3 nights of 7 hours of flagging without an invite. But then of course there were the times where i do get an invite as soon as i flag, but not often. Once i hit 71 the invites became to pour in for some reason, my take is because we work so well with the non-rangers in Sky.

people love two-man LV3 renkeis, and until 71 sam is kinda screwed in terms of that, seeing as that you need swift blade or the nin 66 ws (forget the name, ten maybe?) to "start" a dark renkei for you. id imagine thats why the invites suck around 65 to 71

If you wanna get a vite quicker then another melee... Have good quip. Show it off in your search comment.

Well i had a mini set for about 3 levels in that bracket so i can't speak for around 55. But as a whole invites wern't bad at all pre-NA release, as bad as that sounds lol. Samurai and Dragoon seemed to just get a lot more invites on average back then, maybe it was the hype of them being new, maybe it was the lack of rangers that were around back then. For me though, it was fine, not too unbearable at all. One odd thing though is i was still asked to tank at times in some of those levels believe it or not....

My best advice that i took so long to accept myself is: If you really find yourself frustrated with your amount of invites do this. Make a PT. Really research which areas you like to PT at and your favorite setups and just go for broke. So many are out there flagging just wanting an invite. If someone turns you down oh well, brush it off, but i found most PTs i made went very well, and no matter how lack luster they could be, it beats being AFK in your mog house for hours on end.

I just went for a month with no good pt invites after hitting 71.

Go figure.
My problem of course is there are a couple billion DDs in my level range seeking at any time, and rarely any tanks or mages at all, and when there are any they want rangers.

I hate rangers.

on my server there seems to be a samurai trend going on. everyone is going sam now. people are inviting sams alot more. dunno so much at lower levels(i hear sams get invited more), but if i log in early NA time i normally have an invite for merits within 30-60 minutes.

at the end of pt's people are always like "holy shit! screw drk and thf we're getting sam/thf from now on!" :D

I've noticed this trend too -.- still remains second least played melee on our server though.

Kinda just got into SAM >.> onry level 53 but invites aren't bad for me.... sometimes an hour of seeking without and invite.. but meh not much.
