Equipment concerns

I recently stopped leveling Samurai at 47 to farm because I feel that my equipment is sub par. Basically, I don't have any Snipers Rings, Ochiudo's Kote, Emp Hairpin or a Jujitsu Gi. I let my infereority complex about my gear get to me so much that I sacrificed working with an LS static because of it. A RL friend and LS mate told me to stop worrying about my gear. he says he has seen mages without pants post 60 join parties. He says that I should stop worrying about my gear and level; AF is just around the corner, and that is good enough to last a long time. I have mad faith in my bud; it is other people I worry about. Do you think I should forsake godly gear and just grind, or should I continue farming?:confused:

You don't need the best equip per se (i.e. Haubergeon +1) because those don't help on getting party invites. A normal Haubergeon can easily get the same amount of invites as a Haubergeon +1.

The "staples" that you should get are:

Sniper's Ring
Sniper's Ring / Venerer Ring / Jaeger Ring
Haubergeon
Amemit Mantle

IMO, you should've sticked to the LS static, and then farm whenever you had your free days. But if your LS static PT'd everyday for tons of hours, then that's a different story .

Skill is priority to gear. Always and forever. I'm in the exact same position as you. My SAM is 42, and I lack all the items you listed save for the Kote which I saved over from my Monk. Don't kill yourself over not having the "super expensive" gear.

Weigh the price of the item to the value it actually has and you'll start to see your equipment prices plummit

gear can make the bad player look/play good, an that same gear in a good players hands can make them look/play great. ok heres the thing. right now focus on sniper rings, or its alternatives, thats number 1. also i would not worry about the gi. wait til 50 for the royal knight mufflers. ( +3 acc). an at 55 for the royal knights chainmail (str+2, dex+2, atk+3 ). or go with the sam only equip. i seen alot go this route, an never played poor. the emp pin, you dont need it, kote is nice, but your not gonna be crappy without it.

sam is the tp masters. so take the road of the drk. acc > str > atk.
