Ok....I'm a Samurai (only level 26) but I am also a monk. you say that you take offense Thegod to what he said about Rangers and how he hates them all. But I suppose that means that I can voice that I take offense of you dissing Monks out like this as well, saying that we gain TP too slow. Generalizations are not good for your health you know. I for one invested alot of time and gil into shaping my monk, and I gain TP faster than alot of rangers out there. Does it take a generalization about how rangers suck with TP? No, it does not, because I know rangers are quite competent at getting TP. My monk can pull off about 2 weapon skills and have about 50% tp at the end of the fight most of the time. I know I'm only level 43, so I'm not at the same floor as you are, but please, dont drag us other melee into this. (Sorry Samurais for taking over a little bit of this post :p )

I just skipped reading most of Thegods posts cause I can't understand it at all lol.

What I did till I made a set pt at lvl55 was I put on my flag and if I didn't get invited in an hour or so, I would just search for anyone around my lvl and made my own pts if I could. If no one was available, I would go out farming and put up a search comment that I can warp back to Jeuno and so on. I was kinda make-ur own pt phobic and I had a BAD habit of waiting for pts and not starting one at low lvls, and it took some time to get used to forming my own pts. I guess the times I had when I tried to make my own pt and ended up disbanding kinda discouraged me cause I felt guilty that I wasted everyones time. :sweat:

But Inc is right, I dont see "BLM MP up for sale!" at the AH, and RNG misses a lot now with SE gimping there main source of food, and BRD's Minute effect. So you have to really rely on your gear or luck. :dead:

True midg, and i apologize everyone was flaming and you jumped in and said quit posting....i just shoot off my bad anger directed at the wrong person......but w/e nothing i can do about it now.

If you go back to my first post you will see what my intentions were before anyone even started flaming period (if you notice the provoking of the flames or the initial flames were not made by me)

True rangers dont have unlimited ammo, and i only have 45 slots, so that makes for a very limited amount of play time...(when making my own arrows lets see that adds up to more then 2k arrows i can make if i load up on supplies....(fyi thats more then enough to xp for 8 straight hours if i so chose)


I am a blm ive been in tons o parties ever since level 50 i refused to party w/o a rdm so i know exactly how usefull refresh and ballad/balladII are. I still believe BLMs cant deal the same type of dmg, your resting at some point in the xp session while i am firing away.....i'm the puller, bottom line is the less people i have to wait on the faster i can pull (i never wait on the BLMs mp because IMO he can rest at the start of the battle and get up when he has mp w/e that may be.

skywing you must be joking if you think kabobs were ever as good as the other food thats commonly used by rangers now a days.....kabobs were cheap bottom line thats why rangers used them.

yellow curry is far superior to kabobs and they last 3 hours and affect ranged attack more then if you had a warrior to warcry all your ranged attacks. I am glad SE nerfed food, now cheap rangers who dagger for tp then let off a sidewinder only to dagger for more tp cannot just buy cheap food and deal good damage, they have to spend a lil more for great dmg.

correcting grammer is childish if you have nothing on the point that is being disccused the your spaming, once again i will refer everyone who is new to this "flame war" to my initial post on this thread where my intentions were very obvious......to cheer sams up.....bottom line.

i dont care if this is a sam board no1 on the ranger board bashes the other jobs, not even drg.....its just not cool.


...what someone says in reply to a flame shouldnt be held against them but if thats what you wanna do hey to each group of piggybacking bandwagoners their own....just know that now theres been multiple post from the posters involved and you will find nothing of me flaming other jobs save for the blaintaintly sarcastic over the top remarks made to piss off the specific guy who pissed me off.

I love ranger, IMO there isnt a job more fun in the entire game.

I actually dont need any tank or anyone besides more rangers now that you mentioned it, i'll leave the "normal" partiues to the crybaby darks wwho are too poor to play ranger effectively, while i gather all the rangers a deprive you of the chance to play with the best DD in the game.

Pre-NA release. Samurai got PTs like hot cakes, along with Dragoons.

Post-NA release. DRG, we don't discuss >.>

Samurai, (looking at it from the outside) seems to get a decent invite rate on up to mid to late 50s. Begins to strugle for invites early 60s. 65-70, you start contemplating why it is you even play the game. 71 seems to be when invites gradually pick up again seeing that you can now be more versitile in renkeis and can go both to Tu'Lia as well as Ranp's tomb. You won't get invites as quickly as say……...ranger but supprisignly more often than other "DD" at your level range.

I'm too worried about making a party and taking 5 others to a spot which is already camped so i bite the bullet and wait hours on end to get PT invites. But Midg and others are right in saying if you find it hard to get an invite, just make your own PT.

If I were to make a PT myself my top pics for jobs would be to get a BRD, NIN and BLM into the PT if at all possible. BRD makes any PT solid, eliminates downtime and really takes care of SAM's supposed accuracy problems. NIN seems to keep pace with TP allowing for another renkei every once in awhile, especially if they choose to eat this new sushi that's available. And BLM. BLM and SAM play well off each other since SAM's main purpose is to setup renkeis and BLMs is to capitalize on renkeis with MB damage. More renkeis, more MBs, more damage.

Time to briefly address this bullshit wave of rangers we're seeing lol. I understand how efficient "Ranger PTs" are seeing I'm a bard and am always in PTs with at least 3 if not 4 rangers throughout the week. We are consantly able to get chain 13-14 off of decorative weapons, chain 9's off of aura statues at the ullikumi pop spot (there are only 9 total mobs in this room). But on the same hand i see so many flaws with ranger.

First and for most is the cost. You sacrafice ridiculous amounts of gil for pure damage. If you're a really good ranger, you have to hold back cause well, you'll die. Out of all jobs in HNM settings, you die the most. And you're limited to primarily Sky for PT choices end game (which probably sucks the most, seeing more and more are gaining access to it daily and the place is basically becoming another crawler's nest.) Also Ranger are very selective as to which mobs they're truely effective against.

I'm not saying ranger are bad in anyway shapre or form, but i don't think they derserve this recent trend and hype. There are otehr melee jobs who want to/need to level in the game and given the right situation can actually out perform rangers.

Annnnd to the now infamous Thegod, while you're planing to flaunt your super cool Osode (Make sure you have seiryu kote before hand or you'll regret Osode) in our faces, realize many NA already have it lol. I'd love to see your actual play skill/equipment but we're not on the same server =\ Oh and ranger is by far the worst melee to 'solo' with end game. ^^ ( I love ranger, i just hate seeing someone get so fixated on one job and blind themselves from the rest)

Oh and Mithra make the worst end game Ranger \( '-')/
