Does anyone know if theres anything special about this katana at all? Besides being on the list of weapons thats more affected by str? Does that even work?

Most affected by Str? All Great Katana (and weapons in general) are effected by Str the same way, at least that I know off. Onlything special about this weapon is on Firesday you get more Damage on it and Fire Resistance:

Nukemaru Lv73 77 DMG 450 Delay SAM
STR+2 , On Firesdays: [Fire]+15 DMG:87

Um i guess i wasnt clear. From the Sept 14 update, they had a patch on several weapons with a new damage modifier.

"Damage calculation of the following weapons has been adjusted. Damage will now be more directly related to the attacker's STR and the defender's VIT."

Nukemrau is listed as one of the weapons with this new modifier. My question is how effective/good is this? If i stack up on str gear, would using this katana be better than a katana with +2 more damage? been thinking of getting this katana but i dont know if the 1 mil price tag is reasonable

Oh I see. Well I'm not high enough to test this (also don't have the Great Katana hehe). But from what i read from what you provided, I think stacking a bunch of Str gear and using this should be better than the +2 more DMG Great Katana.

Wow, been a long time since I've posted here. The forums are so dead now.

In any case, I would generally treat +1 STR as +1 dmg on all GKT, because for the most part that seems to be the effect. It's perhaps an over-generalized way to look at it, but in most cases the +STR will compensate for approximately that much dmg.

That said, I was unaware of the adjustments to STR, but I had heard someone mention on alla that the Kote might be less effective than +STR gear now due to some update, which I can only guess is what they were referring to. So far the discussion on that has been inconclusive. I don't have much else to add, except that given the stats on the Nukemaru (very, very nice-- last one on my server sold for 100K to some lucky bastard and I've been trying to get my hands on a markdown one myself) I would probably use it over any GKT with less than 3 more base dmg (STR bonuses considered) except maybe the Honebami on bones, if for no other reason than it looks wicked (but the firesday bonus is very nice :D )
