Ronin Ring

My understanding is the latent effect on this is activated when below 100tp which seems decent to me.

Is this ring worthwhile to use. I figure I SC whenever I hit 100-130 anyhow so it'd basically be like having a snipers ring.

If the requirement for that latent to kick in is 100% true, it isn't that bad in idea, but really, getting to that 100 %+ TP on a fairly quick basis is important as well as landing the WS. I too would like to convince myself that Ronin ring is nearly as good as a Sniper seeing it's oh, 600k cheaper and doesn't have any -DEF effects. But it just doesn't stand up to the constant + ACC and ranged ACC of a sniper =\

Actually, I think you're missing one other requirement:

-Less than 100%TP
-Health has to be "yellow"

All of the other Lv. 50 "Latent Effect" rings (i.e. Rogue's Ring) have the same requirements listed above.

About the Ronin Ring, people say that you don't need to be at "yellow" health, but others say that your health has to be "yellow" since all the other Lv. 50 "Latent Effect" rings have that requirement along with the "Less than 100% TP."

This is why I don't use any "Latent Effect" items, excluding the Genin Earring since the +4 AGI is activated when you have a /NIN sub. You can also check your stats and it'll show you the change.

Just farm for those two Sniper's Rings. They're worth the Gil.

...I gave the Ronin ring a thought, but the unreliability of the item makes me sort of upset. You'd have to tank a little to get it's use, AND your WS ACC will be down as mentioned above.

This ring would be good for Ballista, I'd think. If you can find a way to implement it without hindering your party too much, go for it. (^_^)~b
