  • Fuma Kyahan vs Leaping Boots

Well i have played monk for 51 levels and im tired of it. On ramuh there are a million monks but there dont seem to be that many samurai at all. I have talked to many who say sam sucks or sam is pointless post 60, but i think that point can be well disproved by Silverblood, Kujo and Nodachi :D. I am quite interested in this job so im gonna give it a go. From playing monk i have all of the essentials(well mostly) snipersx2, life belt, Ochiudo's Kote, (selling Spartan Cesti for Valk's Mask >_^) but i see some samurai using fumas. I have these now, but i was thinking that leapings would be better...am i right in this? All info appreciated, really excited to start samurai!!

I had used Fuma Kyahan cause at the time there was a lot of hype around them but to be honest, looking back, they wern't so stellar. If you were stacking those on top of other haste gear, or were a main target for haste to be casted on you like Ninja is, then i would say go for the Fumas. I'm not trying to have you spend more money or anything but i would probably go with LL boots now over those. Defense isn't good on them but the dex bonus is real nice until later levels.

sam don't need really haste equip. but nin and mnk needs it. a good example is utsusemi. with haste (whm spell) a nin can cast 6 sec earlier then normal, that is really a big plus. and i don't remember but i think it was 5% haste = 1sec.

btw, GK with high dly = more TP per swing.

If you are insinuating that +haste would give you less TP per swing, then you are incorrect.

WHM haste spell adds 20% haste, lowering my 504 delay Great Axe to 404 delay. This is a huge difference, yet I still get the same TP per swing.

As for people being disappointed with SAM at 60, the only level one can really be disappointed is 66-71 when you can only create a level 3 skillchain with a tank (unless you do a 3-way skillchain, in which case it will most likely involve the tank anyway).

i've tried both, and i prefer leaping boots. the kyahan make a more noticable impact on nin and mnk (utsu recast and mnk just.. yeah ._.).
