  • New Abilities with CoP ;-;

Alright, I know this has been gone over several times and several false list have popped out with new abilities for jobs with CoP, but this is my take on the situation.

I really hate to be a naysayer, but I am seriously doubting any jobs getting anything new with CoP after tonights patch as far as Job Ability's go. It would not make sense for them to have done this rather large general update, then have another general update 8 days later with the release of CoP.

Sorry for being negative T-T. I really had my hopes up for something a new for a few jobs... Not that I dont like this patch, I am happy to see most of the changes....

Anyone think otherwise? (about the possiblities of new Job Abilities)

Guess we Samurai will just have to be "a little more patient" eh? Of course I'm referring to the alleged interview where Samurai were advised to remain patiently for new stuff -_-

        ...patience...

is a virtue ;_; but it still sux anus.

O well, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed x_>_<_x

Well, I'm thinking that maybe the latest patch was just skins and stuff. Think about it, all these new armors came out and new weapons, but we haven't seen any new "animations" for anything. In other words, maybe the animations of weaponskills and job abilites are too significant to just be downloaded in the patch. Perhaps there is more stuff coming that we will have to install with the CoP CD... obvious there's going to be more on that CD then just a CD key... I'm betting there's gonna be a WHOLE lot more stuff on it's way.

Might seem out of place... But just to comment on the Summoner update with the last patch, but WOW.

My PT last night was very caster heavy, and we decided to throw a summoner into the mix to see how they worked 60+ with the new patch.

Layout: Nin, Sam, Blm, Smn, Whm, Rdm

After the Inital bit of summoner buffing, we discussed him bursting on the skillchain. Blade: Chi > Tachi: Jinpu Distortion. We where all shocked when Shiva was landing 500+ Damage MB's with NO TP. The Red mage was hitting about 350 on burst as per normal. And the BLM was doing his typical 750 Blizga II burst.

After this, we tryed to set up 2 skillchains with me and the avatar, and me and the ninja. We used Shock Strike(I think) > Tachi: Jinpu to create distortion. But this was putting a bit to much strain on the SMN to keep buffs up as well as bursting on one chain, and taking part in the other. So would just end up Solo TP'ing before the chain.... Tachi: Yukkikaze is kinda sekksi.

So anyway, thats my expirence with the new summoner... I am totally happy for them, they can actually play their job, not just act as a backup White Mage with buffs.

Not to mention, it makes the other avatar's a bit more useful as I suspect Fenrir is down in that Transfixion > Gravitation section with Penta Thrust.

yeah i had a great time skillchaining with SMN's avatars today.

Then i realized that i was still doing the same shit i had been doing since level 30. And that my best ws still was tachi:enpi. And that those Avatars might one day replace my versatility in opening skillchains.......

WTH IS WRONG WITH SE? WHY CANT WE GET ANYTHING NEW? Why must sams have to "wait patiently" for things to get better? CoP better have new things for samurais. I mean that NPC has a sheath on his Great Katana, at least we should get those and some new abilities. Pay 30 bucks to explore new places while getting like 1 or 2 new equipment isn't my idea of a real expansion. I have always been happy in the past with Square, so i trust CoP is gonna have new things and abilities.

                including throwing ws for ninjas

is there a list of the summon's Skillchain elements out already and if so, where can I find it? In a dunes party the other day (a good one, even) and we discovered Poison Nails >> Blade: Retsu = Distortion. And yes, I agree that this could threaten a Samurai's versatility. We'll just have to wait and see. Happy for the goons, happy for the summoners, samurai.... sorry guys.

EDIT: silly me, summoner forums are crawling with new SC/MB data. But here's the real agitation: Samurai can no longer perform one man Renkei, Summoners can.

I dunno about that. You could sub summoner, pop out an avatar and one man renkei for more dmg then any smn would renkei for.

SAM, SMN and BLM became a really good exp pt bursting chaining fast killing group.

Take BLM, SAM, SMN, WHM, PLD or NIN and a BRD and you will make exp like hell.
