I am thinking about buying this GK, has anyone had experience with the TP drain on it? I was wondering how many times it procs and how much tp it drains .
Maybe an opinion on wether its worth the 3 mil price tag would also help.

only one was ever sold in the AH and it was bought by the seller for 6500k...... other then that......... never seen one in my life, and dont know how the tp drain works... although i'd love to see it in action XP

Just spotted for the first time on Midgard in AH. Sold on 12/3/04 from Peaoh to Aratharn for 10,000,000 gil. Paradise Oblivion beat that Behemoth BCNM (99 kindred's seals) and got it.

Our Linkshell has done the Behemoth BCNM about 20 times now (something like that, only 3 losses and 15+ wins), but we've never seen a Great Katana drop.

Theres a HUGE list of items that can drop from doing these BCs (A level 70+ weapon of every type, crafting materials, useless gems, drink/soup abjurations, Pheonix Feather, etc) so even if you could win them, the chance of getting a GK is low.

We've also done the Fafnir-Type BC99 before, but I wasn't there for it. We only tried it 2-3 times and I think we won them all.

The Turtle BC99 right now is impossible. We had 8 BLM with SC + 8 MBs every minute. Even dealing around 5k damage a minute the regen rate is so high that 30 mins later he was still 90% HP.

Bloodberry posted of a vid of Shinsoku in action. She swung 4 times and one of em activated the TP drain for 9TP. The prey was a quadav in Rolanberry (obviously too weak) so I'm not sure if the effect gets diminished as u fight harder mobs though

Most of those "Additional Effects" on weapons tend to occur less often on IT, and more often on Too Weaks.

what interest me about this g. katana isnt really the tp drain.... although it is a nice effect........ i'm more interested in the raw dmg of the g. katana and the +5 str :sweat:

From the Samurai I've talked to who have one on my server, the SATA+WS damage from the Shinsoku is approximately equivalent to the Ushikirimaru (Ushikirimaru has 2 higher base damage, and 3 less STR). The TP drain effect procs fairly often, but.. I don't think this GKT is worth the 10,000,000 G price tag on my server.
