Where I am I gonna get the gil for these?! ;_;

Recently I decided to switch back to my lvl 25 SAM (I had been lvling drg for drg/sam, don't laugh, i realize my mistake) but now I'm realizing that while this job is not as expensive as say rng or nin, I'm gonna need some massive gil if I want to be above mediocre. I'll of course want two sniper rings, about 360k each on Midgardsormr, an Ochiudo's(sp?) Kote (another 450k~), either a merman gorget or royal guard's neck thingy( I'd love a peacock charm but let's be reasonable), a life belt (forget the price, 200k~ maybe?), and probably Brigandine Armor +1 (400k?)

Point is: How the hell am I ever gonna make that kind of gil?! That's over a million gil! O_o;
I could always go into crafting but i'd be spending so much money that I could put to the gear in the first place. My crafts are only Fishing: 10, and Smithing: 1 anyway. =/
Someone in my LS has samurai to around 45 and is using his lvl 45 thf to camp Valkurm Emperor all the time. He gets a about a drop a day actually. THsi seems like an easy enough method, however my thf is sadly at lvl one. Is crafting all I'm left with? What can I farm at my lvl that I could make a decent cash flow going? Is NM camping really worth it w/o thf? Is it even worth it with thf? If anyone has any advice it'd be much appreciated. If you think I'm just whining, throw in some advice anyways so there is one less melee with horrid gear. =P

Snipers - Nice to have but not really needed till 55+

Ochs Kote - Again nice to have but not even needed at all. Rse work well

Life Belt - Again lvl 55ish when Acc becomes a problem.

Brigandine Armor +1 - +1 not needed. Normal will do just fine for 10 lvls then change to either masters gi or RK Mail

I think the bigest problem your seeing is that your looking at all the best gear. Most of which you dont have to worry about till 50+. My currant gear contains nothing of any of the best gear and I still hit hard and constant.

i wouldn't get ochiudo's kote as an elvaan sam really, stick with federation tekko has +3 acc and that should help you more.

Yeah I realize that I realistically don't have to worry about these til 50+ and didn't even intend to get them until around then. As for the other armor suggestions from other posts, although appreciated, it's less of what gear i should get and more of how am I gonna get these things. If I don't have to worry about these things til 50+ would now be a goog time to start crafting, so by that time I'd be able to afford these?

The ability to farm goes up a LOT the higher you go.

I too was pretty perpetually broke at around your level, but once I hit 50+, I had less problems with gil.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help with the fact that there are a lot of great items at lower levels, such as the ochiudo's kote and sniper rings.

Personally, I think the system is slightly flawed. It's really tough to virtually impossible (assuming you have some semblance of a life) to raise the amount of gil you need for these items at the level you can equip them.

Unless S-E's intention was for these so called "uber" items to be for people leveling second jobs after they have another job at higher level.

BTW, Lifebelt goes for around 40-50k on my server. It's 200k on yours?!?!?!

I think someone in my LS said Life Belt was going for about 150-160K~ on Midgardsormr, but I never actually checked and I may have misread. I found a pretty good smithing guide earlier today so I might go into that again. =/

Another thing I was always wondering is where do G katanas come from? crafting? quests? They just seem to be on AH, sell like crap, and be expensive all on their own.

You can get katanas at norg, or tenshodo shops at jeuno, bastok, and some others I think.

Some can be smithed, but that doesn't seem like a popular smithing item.

higher level gk are either synthed or dropped from NM.

If you can get that much. The NM is camped to holy hell and Midgard is very inflated server. A jujitsu cost 100k , Brig cost only about 25k

Between 90-110k on Midgard. Still have yet to get mine.

They come from everywhere, NM's drop the most expensive as a norm drop. Crafting almost never happens atleast on our server. Its all about how you buy the weapons. You dont need every upgrade. Also if your racking in the norg fame already, there are a few Quests for good mid-lvl gk's that are rare/ex

This should be your lvl order for GK's. Ignore the blades between af1 and lvl 54, they add very little to anything.

Everyone wants a pecock charm but they dont really knwo what a pain it is to camp argus.When i did get the drop,i had spent a total of 9 days there,and i was so tired,slept right away:DIts not your ordinary NM,where u can expect to lay ur blade or fist on if u are just prepared to stay there for 24hrs,thinking oh it will pop.Gotta put alot of effort into it and camp there like a week or more if u really want the drop.And the provoke bots there dont help stuff much,its a matter of who agro it first.Thats why it cost so much

I think I'm just gonna wait til about lvl 50~ (hopefully there will be better farming ideas then) and just farm up enough money to start smithing again. I'll probably just take a long break from exping and concentrate on crafting for awhile. Until then I'll just have to deal with hunting crawlers and fishing up a couple moat carp stacks for a day every few lvls. This should suffice I suppose, unless some people have better ideas...

I so disagree with no life belt until lvl 55 >.< It's such a great item and when I equipted it at lvl 48...it changed my fun factor for this game by 100%

I have to agree... have a life belt ready to equip the moment you hit 48. I dunno about other servers but on Fairy it was a mere 60k when I got it. 60k for the last belt you're going to wear isn't bad.
