  • I need more help from sam gurus please (T-T)

    I PTed with some JP parties b4 and most of them had thf in it. Now, they of course expected me to be a trick buddy so okay, fair enough, I've read somewhere in this forum how to do that role. The thing that confuses me is this one PT that asked me to stand behind the mob while he's facing the tanker, so that the thf can go behind me and performed his trck attack. Shouldn't it be the other way around? :confused: :confused: :confused:

    And is this whole trick attack thing performed only at the beginning of battle or when I'm doing Tachi: Enpi >>> Viper Bite with thf or should it be done consistently as long as the thf has Trick ready?

    Any other input about playing the trick buddy is also very welcomed
    This is my first experience venturing above the lv35 line so things are starting to ge more complicated with newer skills available, especially if you can't communicate too well with the rest of your group... =.=;;

    What I do with my 47 THF....

    TP under 100% during pull -

    I pull and the DD provokes the mob. Tank and I get in position and I fuidama the tank. I then go behind the DD. If we both have TP ready, then I do Sneak + Trick + Viper Bite onto the melee. Depending on how good the tank is, how much damage the DD is doing, and how early/late we do it into the fight, the tank can normally hold the hate. Even if not, he can easily get it back (Note : This is going by PLD's and NINs who have multiple means of gaining hate. I haven't had a WAR tank in a long time).

    If we don't get enough TP to do it during the fight (quick fight or one of us goes on a missing streak) then I'll do a normal Sneak + Trick onto the DD. The chance of the mob getting off of the tank with it is slim, unless you're tank is very bad.

    TP Over 100% -

    I pull, melee provokes and immideatly starts SC and I Viper Bite onto the tank. If it's a long fight, then I'll do another Sneak + Trick onto the melee, but considering that I can't use Sneak and Trick until I do Viper Bite, it normally isn't ready in time.
