  • Self Renkei after Fix

Just want to check if anybody still able to do self-renkei (without using 2 hour) after the fix? I read on alkhazam (another forum board) that someone manage to pull it off but personally, i didnt manage to do so. If you manage to so, hope u can share with us the exact mechanics on how to do it.

Only if you somehow land 2 double attacks in a row after meditating would you be able to pull it off now =\ But i'm still glad they nerfed the TP gain, i feel more valued in a PT now.

you only need to land 1 double attack.. the only way you can do it now is if you are extremely lucky.. and even before it required a certain amount of luck, on top of skill.

      meditate at 100tp > 2 hit ws > double attack > ws

      doable, but difficult

      wwwwww {Do you have it?}

        Here's the deal...

Start: 40-100tp (depending on if you have AF hat or not) + Meditate ready.

        1) Use meditate
        2) Use initial weapon skill as soon as you have 100+ TP.
**You have time between the first and second weapon skill to allow for three ticks of meditate. (60tp). You therefore need to, in that time, generate an additional 40tp via other means. A g.katana with 450delay will generate 10.5tp per hit, 13.5 after you hit Lv50. In the form of 13-14-13-14 etc. Apply a little simple math and you come to the conclusion that you must score 3 hits to generate the 40tp needed. Previously you could do this by using a 2-hit WS as the initial WS, timing the attack such that a normal attack will occur soon afterwards. For this to work all attacks must connect.
        3) Mash the macro for the second WS. You do not have much of a margin of error.

You can probably see why this no longer works as it did before. The most TP you can get from a GK skill now is 17. (4 hits on a 14-return swing) In order to perform a self-renkei now without the use of your 2hr, the normal attack after the initial WS must be a double-attack.

I always figured a self skill chain was let your self get 150 Tp use WS then meditate then WS?
Im only lvl 27 so I dont know it yet, so far I have only self SC by using 2 hr

but when you WS, you reset to 0% TP, + however amount earned.

yeah.. guess the luck element needs to kick in. Basing on what the veteran SAMs are saying, I can kiss my self-renkei stunts goodbye till i meet the following factors:

              1) i hit lv 50 (sub war 25 gets Dbl Attk if i remember correctly)
              2) Get my AF glove + rice balls to increase chance of Dbl attk
              3) And maybe this: Get my Static Pt Rdm n Brd to simultaneously cast haste on me (stackable?) .

Off the topic abit, i got my Homura last nite just hold off till i reach lv 37 for a Hosodachi. Well, can see a visible damage difference as compared to Kotesu which i had been using. My only rant is They All look the SAME! >.<! Cant GKTs have some variety other than yellow hilts or blue/white hilts (duhz)

So basically SAM AF is actually usefull now ><

AF helm to get more than 100% tp with meditate and rice balls effects being the keys to self renkei >_>

I was able to self skillchain yesterday by using Tachi: Jimpu -> Meditate -> Tachi: Jinpu while killing the NM for a RDM friend to get their AF. I'm still unsure as to how I did this, maybe it was because the NM kept hitting me or Double Attack went off, but needless to say, it is still possible after the patch.

ive done it do. i was lvl 33 and fighting a leecher in delkfault. i know i didnt do it correctly, but i got a lag spike and i got extra time, the ws's were atleast 4-4.5 secs apart. but somehow they chained and i got distortion, enpi > enpi.

                    but use of the 2hr, i can do a 5hit combo, enpi > kagero = liq > enpi = scission > kagero = liq > goten = fusion.

its lots of dmg and looks really cool imo

I just did it yeterday while waiting for a party in rolanberry. As soon as I hit 100 tp I med and used tachi enpi. While Tp was building did a critical attack. I spammed the macro for tachi Kagero as soon as tp was 80+ and BOOM. Fusion ^^

a critical hit doesn't give any more tp than a regular hit, so you must have done a double attack in there.
