  • SAM AF3 - Input Needed

I've been putting this one off ever since I hit 60. Mainly, I think because I'm a little worried about the outcome.

I read a few posts here about others experience, and from the look of it, most had some high level help involved. I know some people have said that it is possible with a PT of 60, but still very difficult?

I don't think I'll be able to get anyone in their 70's to come along, so I was looking for what would be the best PT set up for lv 60 players.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of:

    1.SAM (me)
    2.WHM
    3.RDM
    4.BLM
    5.THF
    6.PLD

or should I form with different jobs?

Also, I've heard conflicting reports that the BLM Demon, Gaki, cannot be silcenced nor slept. Some say yes, others no. Which is true?

Lastly, exactly how should the battle play out? The only strategy I've read is -
    1. Use Warding Circle right away
    2. Kill BLM
    3. Kill DRK
    4. Kill SMN/pet

I was looking for something a bit more. Like for instance - Should I tank (lol well try to tank XD) one of the other Demons while the PLD takes a different one? Or should he just use Invincible right away, to draw aggro from all 3?

Alot of questions I know, but I don't feel comfortable risking my exp and that of my PT members until I can better understand how to handle the battle.

As always, thanks in advance. All input will be appreciated.

None of the demons can be silenced or put to sleep. That's what makes samurai AF3 the hardest.

*Have the PLD go in and pop invincible right away.
    *Use Warding Circle early.
*Sleep The Onibi (elemental) and forget about it.
*Everyone jump Gaki and do as much damage as you can.
    *Kill Rasetsu next.
*Kill Onki last but make sure you're healed up. Astral Flow can do 600-800 to all. Once the third demon is dead you've won, there is no need to kill the elemental.

Thanks for the reply. After reading through it though, I came up with one more question=/

Should the mages stay to the back as far as possible to avoid the astral flow of Onibi?

All things considered, this still sounds scary as hell, lol.

You don't lose your Banishing Charm. In fact, you still have it after you win.

Mages take less damage from magical attacks. If you're with tarus and still worried, go ahead and have them retreat when Onki gets low.

It isn't that bad, my usual exp PT did it for our sam, I tanked the summoner as an rdm, and actually slept the blm. Everyone else took care of the other demon. After that they helped myself and the whm that were beating up the summoner, then we went over and killed the blm. The summoner pulled out ifrit right before he died but didn't do anything with it.

It really isnt' that hard, highest level I think was 61 when we did it. All of us were half asleep and we had no battle plan.

i just did it with a group of 70's and the worst damage i took was from a firaga 2, not that bad at all... except for astral flow.

the smn whipped out its version of titan and killed my blm

i felt pretty bad but we won and she congratulated me
