  • 66 Rare/EX G. Katana?

    I was told yesterday that there is an NM that drops a rare/ex G. Katana with some decent stats on it. If anyone would by chance have a good site with info on it or know the info themselves i'd really appreciate it if you let me know about it.

    Thanks much -

    Pretty good site

    This site has just about all the equipment and info about quest and such I believe the weapon you are looking for is the Sukesada, the lvl 70 one Kawari sounds even better though

      MysteryTour is a great site and you’ll find your needed information there. Just by looking at their Great Katana section (http://mysterytour.web.infoseek.co.j...reatkatana.htm) make me feel like Homer Simpson staring at a box of donuts.

      The Sukesada is nice, but the GK I’m looking forward to the most is the Kamewari. I have a static party so when we hit 70 (long ways away :dead: ) we’re going to go kill the NM “Amikiri” for it. Well, at least I hope 6 level 70s can kill it and it’s not a HNM that requires a full alliance :sweat: .

      On another note, anyone else happy that these new Great Katana are RARE/EX? They have such awesome stats that if they were not RARE/EX, peoples would camp them to no end and charge us Samurai 1-2 million gils for them.

        you need like a full alliance of 75s about for amikiri, not only is he hard as hell and his area attack can wipe out mages in one hit, while you're taking damage there are bone type monsters near by that will aggro to the low hp and attack you. And these aren't the easy ones, level 70's level off these I believe. I've really wanted that level 70 katana but kind of gave up hope of having it. But when you check the damage to delay ratio, the best katana is actually the lv72 hq one. The regular lv72 one is pretty cheap and the hq one has only sold once on rag, but she will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine.

          the gk ur looking for is dropped my shii a hound type in Bostaunieux Oubliette, i want it too; ;
          btw i think the lvl 60 gk is better than the lvl70, ur collective attack power is greater w/ the lvl 60 + u have less wait time....can any one agree or disagree w/ that?

            Correct me if I'm wrong as I don't have much experience with the game yet, but don't lower delay weapons give less TP return? So wouldn't it be better to have the harder, but slower weapon to maximize tp return or since the sukesada has such a low delay for a GK it wouldn't matter much? :sweat:

              Delay does effect returned TP you're right. Whether shorter is better it really all depends on how often you hit/miss.

              And thanks a ton for these sites guys, I'll really use them.

              EDIT: Hmm that site doesn't seem to have Shii's Pos or recomended levels. Anyone know those by chance?

                Sukesada - (Rare/EX) D69 Delay 399, Attack+7 Double Attack+1%, Lv66~ SAM/NIN

                Shii is an undead dog type that pops at I-8 on the third map, currently not much info on him but what there is...

                6x 70's - defeated
                69 NIN and a 64 WHM - retreated
                69 NIN solo - obliterated

                It says the 69 Ninja took a 300 damage critical even with a Fish Kabob eaten so that should give you an indication of how hard it is. I think we might be able to get enough people together to defeat him but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

                  I would personally try to go for LVL 73 Rare/EX Great Katana, Ushikirimaru. From the sword's stats its one of the strongest great katanas in the game. I was lucky enough to find a Galka lvl 75 samurai/lvl 37 warrior on my server that was able to get it. The Ushikirimaru looks just like the LVL 61 Great Katana, Zanbato. I like the sword but I'm not the biggest fan of the appearance of the sword.

                  Ushikirimaru
                  LVL: 73 DMG: 82 Delay: 450
                  HP+15 STR+2 Enmity+2 Vs. Beast : Accuracy+7

                    Pull amikiri to level-up PTs spot
                    thats how Abel's LS killed that.

                      Well we finally made a trip for the level 66 katana. Apparently it wasn't anything like we were anticipating. The actual NM Shii turned out to be rather easy ( i was afk during the time they faught it believe it or not. It popd about a min after i left XD ) but yeah navigating through Bost and having the patience with the potential amount of Garms you'll have to kill to get Shii to pop are the worse parts about it, not Shii.

                        At least your inventory wasn't also full, unlike some particular drg and assault jerkin :spin:

                          Well, how does it look? I've never seen one in-game. Also, how does it perform?

                          If it's good I'll try to get my PT to clear the garm PHs when we camp a Jelly Ring for our PLD...it's only 2 grids away from SS.

                            I sorda wish but no. Infact you're way off lol. Here's a pic and stats.

                            In all honesty i havn't had much time to compare it to the 67 G. Katana i had prior because the PT i had last night was so hectic - i was more worried about keeping people alive than watching my dmg output. What i did notice though was my WS damage stayed relativly the same, slightly higher on average. And i swung a whole lot more per fight with the 51 less delay and by stacking the 1% double attack up and +1 double attack of AF gloves and tonosama rice balls i noticed double attack to be kicking in quite a bit.

                            EDIT: sorry had to drop pic quality a ton in order to post it for some reason. Anyways, that's it. And ignore the first comment i guess xihpoid deleted the pic he had of a the blue katana.

                              that looks pretty bad ass *-*

                              what was the spawn timer on shii, if you know?

                              went down there tonight camping jelly rings, and headed to shii afterwards. killed garms for about half an hour before everyone had to crash (sewer syrup is like a 3-4 hour spawn.. not 1-2.. -_-; ), but if you have a guesstimate so i know how long we'd have to stick around.. and is the katana 100% drop? e_e

                              wwwwww {Do you have it?}
