    Hi All,

Appreciate if u can answer these noob qns of mine:

Question 1 (for those who walk the warrior's path):
What's up with the 'Keep Provoking" and stack hate thingy?

I have went into 2 or 3 pts that tell me to keep provoke to stack hate on mob and prevent it goin to the mages. While technically this is true but i find Provoke is just too precious to be wasted like that! Provoke can potentially save lives rather fluandering provoke at every time it is available. As long as melee fighters fight at a distant from mage and follow provoke order with the given order, we should be able to keep the mob away from mage. Why i said provoke is precious? Using the provoke at the right time, can have a chance to disrupt a mob special attack (e.g Screwdriver). For the experience players, I hope to hear your view on this and how if this style of playing is even applicable at higher level (assuming no paladin). Do correct me if i am wrong on the provoke thing.

    Question 2:
How do we place MB into renkeis? How can we alert the the mage and usually what kind of timing (rough guage is require?

    Question 3
This is more of a rant. Passive Traits> Resists Bind. I never ever manage to resist a bind before -.-! does this thing ever works?? I am only a lv 17 SAM but i still get bind from mobs every single time they cast bind. Besides, i am an Elvaan (with higher Mind) ..aint i suppose to fare better in this dept?

    Question 4
Anyone can share tips of how to guage PT members' TP level? I am so sick of prompting ppl for TP report with no response (even you tell them to report on cue). I felt so dumb that i end up storing 300% TP when i can be doing more SCs at every 100% release.

lets say fo rnumbers provoke adds 500 hate, now i belive its something like 2-3 hate per hp healed? or so i heard once, so cure2 doing max of 90 hps, will generate, 270 hate, the second cure2 will add another 270 points for 540 total hate, now that i have more than the 500 provoke added, so i now have agro. however if u have provoked inbetween my cure2's u would have 1000 hate, thus more than my healing. most melee's sign that they've lost agro is when the monster turns form then and goes after someone else. however with certain monsters, namely giants in qufim with very powerfull ranged attacks can smush casters easily, that is why you should provoke every 30 seconds, and its not wasted.

instead of thinking your turning hte monster back on yourself, think of it as keeping it form ever turning at all (this comes into play past qufim/into kazham area alot more)

      1. Provoke seems to add a set amount of hate that decays over time. This is pretty obvious if you run out a ways to find an enemy and then pull with voke and run back to your party. By the time you get back, the slightest thing will pull it off of you. Also every time the enemy hits you, you lose a certain amount of hate. This combined with the fact that mages and other melee in the group are continually gaining hate and not being hit means that in order to stay on top hate wise, you should voke every time it refreshes. Provoke is not the snap aggro that other similar abilities were in other mmorpgs. If someone in your party gets too far ahead of you hate wise, your provoke will not pull it off of them. The best thing you can do is try to keep up with voke every 30 seconds. This is all assuming you are the designated main tank for your PT. The main tank saving provoke til it runs at the mages , etc, is one of the main problems I've seen with the lower level pick up groups I've been in here and there.

      2. For the most part, the timing of magic bursts rests on the blm. You dont really have to 'work them in'. Coordinate with them on which renkei you will be doing, what spells they have available to them, what the monster is weak to. But when it comes to actual timing, you just do the renkei like always, and they have to time their nuke accordingly. They have something like 5 seconds after the end of a renkei, or a couple of seconds in between middle weaponskills for 3+ ws renkei. Learn to work with your blm though, sam and blm go together well, I wouldn't ever want to group without one.

      3. In general, the resist traits are mostly useless. For samurai, it is actually resist Blind, not resist Bind. I've seen mine go off like... 5 times, ever. Mostly on weak mobs that I was farming. Samurai already have a low mnd stat that leaves them open to neg status effects. Combined with the fact that alot of our better gear only takes away more. Spiked necklace will probably be worn for several levels, it has -6mnd. Sniper rings and peacock charm all have nasty hits to sv. Dark, which I believe blind falls under. Short story, you wont see this trait go off much , ever.

      4. Unfortunately no. And unresponsive renkei partners with no communication skills hurt a samurai's performace. This really becomes a problem at 30+ when you get meditate. You absolutely must know the TP level of others in order to hit max efficiency. Some people start communicating better when you explain this to them. Some, no matter how much you talk with them about it, will be off in their own little world trying to pull off the uber Justgowhenyouhavetp skillchain.

        about resist blind:

in quicksand caves the other night, the ants in there were casting sandstorm every fight pretty much, and id say 2 out of the 3 times i was Evading the blind. I was pretty surprised maybe there are different types of blind, and we are more than likely to resist sand-type blind effects, but i was seeing the resist blind go off like crazy in quickstand against IT ants so i dunno :spin: just thought id post that, as i too rarely ever see resist blind work, but it was going off like mad last night
