Alright, yo, here da dealio...

To perhaps put an end to all this talk of which subjobs "work," I've decided to conduct a poll. It's very simple... just list any subjobs for Samurai that you deem "acceptable," and in the end, I'll compile a list of job/sub combos that are considered acceptable by the people on these boards. If someone asks about a certain combo, you can refer them there if you like.

How you pick the combos doesn't matter. You can choose combos based on what you would play, whether or not you would invite a character with that combo into your PT, draw names from a hat, or whatever... it's your prerogative.

Combos that recieve a certain number of votes (undecided for now) will be listed and ranked according to popularity of vote.

Yep, that's it. Ofcourse, I'm only a level 15 SAM, but when I'm in parties with them, its /WAR looks better than /THF or anything else.

Any combo is accepted as long as it's played right. How good a character is doesn't matter what job and subjob it has, it depends on how well the players can play that certain job and subjob.

SAM/WAR is the best combo, SAM/THF can work if your in a PT with a good PLD(or Tank in general) . SAM's are built to be backups tanks ,more so Post-60 when every DD and their mother got your skills. Even the AF is build around you being hit for additinal TP.

War. RNG can work at 60 + if taunting wouldn't be needed. Thf i really wouldn't recomend but if you're gona try and make it work make sure it's past 60 + too.

War if you're not in a very forgiving static. Playing the subjob that you like, popular sentiment be damned, is all nice and good and idealistic until you go 3 days without a party at high levels consistently because of it. Thief is fine for farming though.

I'm only a lvl 26 sam/war right now, but I like the war sub.

Haven't pt'ed with any other combinations at this level yet.

I use /WAR when I party. I would however, like to try to party with my THF sub once I get it up to capped status. The one thing I want to see is how much better the renkei get with a SA/WS used. Naturally, I'm a pre-50 SAM....so Double Attack doesn't affect me yet. At 50, I'd rather double attack than do 100 more damage with my Jinpu. ^^

SA/WS will do about 50-100 damage more than your average damage, its just critting on the first hit, so you have a chance of seeing about 50-100 more, from my experiences comparing my pre-50 WS damage with sam/thf's, myself being a sam/war. With double attack i dont even notice a difference anymore though :D 50 is a wonderful level for sam/wars
