I am very new at this game (3 weeks ^^) and is at the junction of choosing a advance job...so need to advice.
I also read in this forums that SAM/Rgr is very very powerful. Anyone tried it? Any good? Rng might be bad for me coz i am elvaan (lower acc) unless i compensate it with those rings that cost a nuclear bomb (e.g. Archer (or was it Ranger)'s ring <Acc+2, Range ACC+2) is abt 200+k on my sever). But having said that, having a benefit of cutting down enemies at a way further distance then finally renkei it off..that sounds so cool.
Another question: I read that SAM/War has been used a backup voker/tanker.. how true is this? Can a SAM/WAR really tank and voke off the aggro cause by crazy damage from BLM/DRK/DRG? And let say in the emergency situation where the primary voker (presumably the pally) lost the aggro, the 3 melee damage dealers step in to voke..who will have a better chance of surviving? SAM/WAR, DRG/WAR, DRK/WAR. I think we more or less strike off DRK/WAR coz DRK sucks in defence.
Finally, i know this is a damper. I talk to couple of seasoned high level players abt my interest in beng a SAM. They strongly dissuade me to do other jobs like (DRG/DRK/Pal) coz it is hard to get party at high level and that they would prefer a real dmg dealer or a real tanker in the party. Sigh! I dunno.. is it any true? Any high level players like to comment on this?
