So I'm nearly lvl 40 Sam looking to do my first AF quest soon. I go and look up the quest and it tells me i needed to keep my lvl one Great Katana.. great i dropped that along time ago. Ive read in a few posts that perhaps i can re-buy it somewhere for 30,000 gil. Thats fine, but where?? I looked all over norg with no luck. I cant see Square Enix screwing me over like this. There has to be another way. It would seem unlikely that it could be crafter or sold at AH as it is an rare ex item... Please help, if I cant get AF i would be pretty sad....

When you initially got the Samurai job you had to speak with 2 Samurai NPC's near the Stairs in Norg.

I believe that you can repurchase the lvl1 Samurai Sword from the Female NPC of these 2 by speaking with her.

Its the elvaan NPC, btw. And you have to have the quest accepted first in order to rebuy it.

do u have to have fame in norg before u get the samurai AF armor quests?

You dont need fame in Norg. If you got the samurai quest from Jacribeux, you're good to go.

Just for reference, short rundown on the quest:

You need: Mumeito, your level 1 sword, which in case you threw it away (shame on you, Ronin), you can get for 30.000 gil in Norg again. Let me tell you right away, no the AF katana isnt worth that much as a WEAPON, but yes, you need it if you want to get AF armor.

A sack of fish bait. You get that off Goblin ROBBERS in Sanctuary of ZiTah, a common drop. If you hug the left wall when you enter from Meriphataud, you'll soon see a little pond with robbers around it. Soloable at 50, not sure below that.

Head to E-8 in ZiTah, there are a lot of Master Coeurls and Hellhounds around, who aggro from a large distance... clear the area around the pond (it looks like the Robber pond), trade the Sack of Fish Bait to the ??? in the southeast area of the pond. The NM that spawns in a pugil type, thus slow and screwdriver are to be expected. When it is dead, examine/click the ??? again and get the item. Several people can get it from killing the fish once.

Back to Jacribeux, give him Mumeito..... yes thats right, ONLY the Mumeito, since the other item is a key item, its not in your inventory. Cutscene, Magokoru, you win.

What are the stats for the AF1 Great Katana?

56 damage 450 delay, min level 42, Str+1, Agi+1

Basically, 2 damage less than the 44 one, for 1 Str 1 Agi.

How hard is that beast, and where can I find a map of zi'tah (how much gil too). I went there with my lvl 52 drg friend and some robbers whooped our !@#...
