  • samurai quest???

I hit 30 last night, and did some reading, and heard that the quest to get samurai is EXTREMELY HARD. Just wondering how long the quest takes, or if high levels would even consider helping. I know they'll help if its not that long of a quest etc..

I really don't want to wait to level 40+ to get the job

    thanks

Doesnt sound that hard to me.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This quest starts in Norg. Speak with Jaucribaix and he'll tell you he wants a branch from a tree in a sacred place and some iron filings from a bomb. Ranemaud will give you a sacred tree sapling, and Aeka will give you old iron from the east.

Next you have to slay two enemies to get the items needed.

One is a bomb type enemy called Forger, which appears when you trade the old iron to the ??? at D-8 in Konschtat Highlands. Forger will drop one iron filing when slain, and you can trade to the ??? every 3 minutes.

The other is a Guardian Treant, which appears when you give an axe to the ??? in Sanctuary of Zi'Tah, on the western side at the really big tree (can't miss it once you're close). Check out the ??? after Guardian Treant is slain for the branch needed.

Bring the items back to Jaucribaix, he'll tell you to come back after 3 days (3 RL hours), after you return and talk to him you have access to the samurai job in mog house.

I was talking to some guy and he said that he had a lvl 60 guy helping him and he still died like 5 times. I didn't ask him too much because he was leveling but unless I get help, I think this quest actually is hard.

Is it possible for a party of lvl 30s to kill Ironshells and Fishmen in the Sea Grotto? I tried to get to Norg today, but got slaughtered by a few guys inches from the doorway.

I think I’ll wait till I am like level 35 or something like that before attempting to do the quest just to be on the safe side.

I just finished the sam quest today and I would like to fill in some holes, errors, and just general confusion among other things directly and indirectly related to the sam quest.

First the three chest keys for the khazam quest.

The Giddeus key was a royal pain, not because of the rarity of the drop but just trying to find the elusive hole. The hole is located in H7. However H7 is basically in the caverns. The easiest way to find the right hole is to situate yourself at G7 above ground at the mouth of the cavern where Ghoo Pakya is. He is one of the alter birds for the offerings in mission 3. Enter the cave from that point and just keep taking lefts. It will only take like a minute to get to the correct hole which is located in a dead-end. From then on its a single path, just don't fall off any of the ledges.

                      Sea-Ghrotto --> Norg.

                      Oh wow oh wow....
Make sure you have some sneak and invisible potions for this part. I forget what the sneak potion is called but the invisible is prism powder.. something like that. Enter sea ghrotto and put them on. Follow the right wall and you won't miss the secret door. Enter it and this is where you should freak out when you see all the skeletons..... yeah you have to get by them too to get to norg.....

The entire run is very short but if you get aggro on you the only thing that will save you is if you can flee.

                      Zi'Tah
It's fact that only one person does research and everybody else copies and pastes that person's research..... errors and all.

The correct ??? is located on the EAST side at L9. However there is another ??? located at E8 on the west side. Thats *E8* the wrong one though, and now your deep in Zi'Tah country. This place is very very nasty.

Also it's not just any old axe you need. You need a Hatchet. Trade the hatchet to the ??? and the tree will spawn. Kill it then trade the twig you got from ranmund to the ???. Make sure everybody in your party does this. Unlike the bomb, you only need to kill the tree once for everybody in your party to finish this part of the quest.

                      edit:

Oh another important note. I died in Zi'Tah and dropped to level 29. Before that though I recieved the quest when I was 30. The cool thing is, is that I was still able to get the quest items from the tree and bomb while I was 29. However, to be on the safe side, before I handed the items back to the NPC that issued the quest I leveled myself back up to 30.
