  • Why Not Galka Sam?

I'm having a very hard time deciding what race to choose for my Samurai. While stats are important to me, so is style and being able identify with my race.

On a purely stats front, it seems to me Galka is by far the best choice for Sam. When comparing Hume, Elvaan, and Galka (the only 3 I am considering) here is how their stats rank:

    HP - Galka, Elvaan, Hume
    Str - Elvaan, Galka, Hume
    Dex - Galka=Hume, Elvaan
    Vit - Galka, Elvaan, Hume
    Agi - Hume, Galka, Elvaan

So Galka comes out ahead in almost every stat that matters to Sam, and has quite a bit more HP and Vit then the others.

Stylistically, based solely on screenshots and some in game movies, I like the way Elvaans fight, but don't care for how they run/walk. Galkas I haven't really seen too much of in movies, so I can only base it on screenshots and they just seems like the typical "big race" in mmorpg's, so they don't seem to appeal to me ask much. Hume falls somewhere in between.

Anyway, is the stat calculator wrong (http://ccwf.cc.utexas.edu/~nhart/Status_calculator.htm), or are there others reasons not to choose Galka that I am missing? =)

I'd go with an Elvaan since they're soooooo handsome!
It's not just a game, it's an emotional experience.

I suppose Galkas do make exceptional samurais, as samurais need a good blend of str, dex, and i think a little agi. But, you can always make up for bad stats in one area with equipment. Although, sometimes it's more expensive making up for one stat than it is for another. But, str is more important to samurai then dex especially in the choices of race since the dex different at lvl 70 between galka and elvaan is only 4 which is 2 accuracy. It is harder to make up for lost strength but it is more expensive to make up for lost accuracy but 2 accuracy isn't as significant.
