hey guys, im an avid MMORPG player and i just wanted to try and get a few things straight about FFXI and the samurai class. any help you guys could give would really help me. P.S. you guys that had the online journals for your samurai are really great guys, i think it really shows how the community is willing to get involved and help each other out. ok, back to the questions.
1) ive played FFtactics, so i understand the job system, but i was wondering if in FFXI you are allowed to not use your initial class. for example, could i have a ranger/beastmaster? or am i forced to maintain my main job as either a primary/support job?
2) considering i have to pay per character, i really want to get my first character well made ( a hard task). i know in most MMORPG's being a warrior can be quite boring, but from my research, it seems that being a warrior is almost a MUST when choosing samurai. i liked the idea of a SAM/THF but then again, i think all of the useful thief skills are so high level that it would be impractical to minor in THF. so, is playing as a warrior for my first 30 levels going to be boring? is it easy to get in a group? is it impossible to solo as a warrior? do they get fun and interesting skills? i kno all of the facts, but i was hoping to get some actual beta testers opinions.
3) if i make a samurai, i think im going to go elvaan. why? elves rule, hands down. im a roleplayer, and i dont think a Hume would cut it for me. is there anything i can do as an elvaan to increase my abilities, or have a better chance of making a sweet sam?
4) any other information you guys could give would be great. thnks for all the help i have already received just by reading here. im just looking for some decisive answers, thnks.
