Samurai Info Please

I read alot of threads and learned alot of stuff nudging me towards Samurai. I would like to know their Advantages and Disadvantages. How well would you rank them against other melee classes. How expensive are Samurai weapons and armor. How do ya level sword skills? How good are their "Limit Breaks" since they gather TP pretty fast. Any information you coudl give me to help me make my decision on Samurai over Paladin.

well i don't actually rank jobs over others =\ but they do their job as a mellee. sams are relativly cheap unless you splurge on rare items for them in later levels. i.e. the level 34 +20 attack gloves, haste pants, moded spears that sort of stuff. their weapons skills or "limit break" are fairly good. better than some mellee classes in the damage area and are very renkeiable. the level 150 is a very powerful but not very consistant WS - it's the best i have but it's no penta thrust (level 150 spear WS). atvantages - they seem to be fairly desired in higher partys just to conduct renkeis and make sure there are plenty of them, they look cool (imo lol), they can use many different weapons(if you so choose to). disadvantages would probably be - it is an advanced job so it will be awhile before you are able to earn one, take hits like women lol (mainly in later levels - up till level 30 they serve as decent tanks), damage can be inconsistant at times ( though i think this is true for any class), and if you so choose to get the best equipment available it will cost you an arm and a leg either in the amount of time you spend earning it or the gil you drop to buy it (for later levels really).

Thanks alot dude. This helps some. I been trying to decide between Samurai and Paladin. It's been a hard road but atleast I have time.

damn im so confused i was planing to make a samrai in the import and move him over now i found out i probably cant what should i do? and as fun factor whats funner a PLD DRK or SAM because ill probably make the funnest in the NA version

Sorry if this sounds mean...You know...you can't go around in life having people making decisions for you. They are all melee type classes, so just pick which ever one u think you will have a lot of fun with. Not sure if this helps or not but its worth a shot.

PLD has pretty good def.
DRK has high attack power low def.
SAM pretty good attack and lots of Renki decent def.

ughm you can play the NA version with the character you raise on the JP version as they will both be played on the same server. hope that helps a bit in your decision.

all right screw u kosmos j/k i know i was confused because see i just have ADDso my mind wonders its a bitch and i wanted to do so many things then figured i couldnt because it would take me much time. but i have ot figured out now now as for letting you switch servers thats not exactly true see there are the world shifters and if you happined to be one of the first people to sign up to go to a new server it would work but only if your on like Rag or another high pop servers
