    Re: Enhancing Sword

I would say "Now you're just trolling" but the troll train actually rolled into the station when you registered here.

I would go so far as to amend your statement to
"Excalibur is very easy to come by. It just requires about 60 Million Gil, and an insanely ridiculous Dynamis shell that contains no other members looking to upgrade a relic, and people willing to practically give you currency just to help you out. If you have both of these, you can get it in 1-2 months. However, for most everyone else not living on Fantasy Island where all your dreams come true, it will cost considerably more, and take a lot longer. So you know, it's probably not really an option for most people."

OK, I'm calling baloney here. Things just don't add up, as they often don't in your posts:

      1. If members of your Dynamis LS can get currency so cheaply that (as you pointed out) they can actually make Gil selling it on the open market, why wouldn't they just buy currency from LS to sell?

      2. On Ifrit, currency fetches higher price. Yet, it takes most of the currency just to fund the Dynamis LS I'm in--and it's not a flight by night operation; the LS has been around for at least four years. How is it possible your LS is able amass so much currency and still stay financially solvent?

      3. On the subject of LS hording currency, how is it able maintain the stockpiles when it sell to member so cheaply? Wouldn't people take advantage of the price and either sell it on open market, or, heck, upgrade relics?

      4. If you're allowed to buy the last 3000 currency at a discount, then get them back after the quest, and sell that 3000 on the open market, in effect you would made off with 6-9 million Gil--that's Gil which the LS would have made if it sold currency on the open market at the prices you listed. Hard to imagine any LS would sponsor your sword with massively discounted currency and toss in such large freebie on top of it.

As for the enhancing sowrd Its nice as a trophy. Also where is it 14 mil, I want a slice of that, ill transfer my char and sell it there for that price, most ive sold 1 for is 3 and ive put 4 through auction.
...did you just say getting Sea was harder then getting Excalibur?

        Just two questions:

How many people on your server have Excalibur?

And how many people on your server have Sea?

If it's so easy to get within 1-2 months, how come you've been playing for '4' years and still haven't gotten it yet?

Also, your Dyna LS must not have any Plds.

Because we only sell currency to members if they are doing the weapon creation process. They are required to show the item pre and post upgrade, if they fail to do so booted.

Because we pay for dyna everytime, If 40 ppl cant mass enough money to pay for the run something is wrong.

We have people whp take advantage and up grade relics. Or take a cash percentage of the overall bank instead.

Well 1 im not a dick,2 I would put that back for someone else to use, and take my money back for the 3000 i returned since i never really used it.
So ya suck it buttercup my numbers add up fine you just choose to try and look at everything I say negatively.

You still didn't answer why you don't have one if they are so easy to get. Or why most of your shell doesn't have them. Heck, how many people in your shell do? Names? Relics upgraded?

becauase Ive had other things I wanted to do before getting it murph. Maybe you can just hop online and buy 60 million gil but I can't so while Ive been building my gil I have been doing assaults, nyzul Isle, salvage. If i focused all my power on getting an excalibur it woul take me max 2 months.

yes mor people on my server have sea over relics, but i think its about 3:2 or excalibur vs justice.

So now because I ask you to back up your statements, I'm a gil buyer. Anyone who has seen my gear will tell you otherwise.

We weren't talking about on your server. We were talking about in your LS.

i'm pretty much just a lurker, but boy do i love when MrMageo starts posting in a thread. it turns from informative to entertaining.

i seem to remember reading your melee "guide" and it saying you don't have a peacock charm or even a scorpion harness. you must be sitting on a boat load of cashing just for the sake of having it rather then using it to help your prove your opinion that red mage melee is worthwhile.

Getting the excalibur would be the single greatest boon to a meleeing Rdm in the game, far outweighing *any and all* other items, by far. It would grant you a near permanent 200+ dmg 100% proc, always active en-spell that ignored Def and Resists.

If it was so easy to obtain then why in the hell would you prioritize other things above it?

Also, I didn't ask about a Excalibur vs Justice ratio, I said SEA vs Excalibur seeing as you effectively said that it's easier to get Excalibur then it is to get Sea.

                          600k a day Farming o_O

Im lucky to get that after all my plants have harvested for tarutaru rice, and i catch my own fish for the Sushi market.

And even then i can only catch 200 fish a day thanks to the fishing limit, and im lucky if 100-120 of those fish are the fish i want for sushi.

                          Gardening + Cooking + Fishing = $$$

Although to be honest with my relic im working on (Aegis), Currency sells for like 7-11k on Odin, If i make about 24k for a stack of Sushi (- the cost of the NPC ingredients, since i catch my own fish and grow my own rice). I only get like 3 Currencys out of that, and even then that gil goes other places like Bolts for my THF, or Tacos for my PLD or other random stuff. I'm just taking it slow.

Anyway as far as the OP goes~

Just wait the extra 5 levels for the Joyeuse at lvl 70, its not a really hard NM to camp, and the drop rate is 100%. I like the Joyeuse, its really neat, and i bet its neat for RDM too. But im not a RDM so i won't pretend i know what im talking about lol.

I would have totally sold it for the 14m. We're not talking about a K club here (which I know is worth more but is also infinitely more powerful in the hands of a well prepared DRK)
It's a sentimental trophy, this was over 2 years ago, and getting an Enhancing Sword had for a long time been one of my RDM aspirations. I don't use at as much anymore but it's a nice status piece, so it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
