the sad part is i bet you that rdm, would win most confrontations with other players an jobs, using that same tactic. its almost like he wasnt expecting apple pie to use a poison potion, thus why there was never a second dispel, an could explain why he tried to cast sleep 2 more times.

      Question:

In a scenario such as this, would the dispel have removed the poison effect? of what there something else up that i missed?
Alauna >> : yea.. what do TC majors do, anyways?
      >> Alauna : we are capable of doing lots of things, but aren't really experts in anything :-p
Alauna >> : oh, so your a RDM?
      >> Alauna : yeah...

i don't think so. poison is still a negative effects. dispel removes only positive effects.

I don't think dispel would remove it either.. However, the ballista items- Catholicon or Demoralizer might.. I haven't actually tried it on Poison.

All the new items give the game less of a predictable feel. Celestial Incense gives you temp invincibility to physical attacks and Spiritual Incense works against magic.. including sleep.

I wish more people would start playing on Hades.. like > 10 people per team. That'd be so chaotic lol.

Does anyone have counters to sleep bolts? Melee like to target us little taru RDMs..

hehe it's still easy to be killed in ballista if ur not paying attention... rdm is weak w/o it's buffs...

I've been killed by a sam before... bind resist, sleep poisoned off, interrupted spell, two back to back sidewinders... dead rdm.

but at the same time I've taken 2-3 enemies at once and won.
...so we will step away from the mainstream to live like vagabonds and common dropouts... don't you want to hang out and waste your life with us? -Spike

the question now is this. how do you beat a rng. one on one. minus being another rng.

i know i can handle them for awhile, but i end up losing to them in the end, an give them a stack of all the bolts they use. an i only seem to die faster. damn those rngs...

a cheap ugly trick with a little lag on the Ranger's side is to run around them in circles and keep attacking. They will have problem shooting at you because of the "can not see" problem. But what's the fun in doing that heh.

Maybe the blinking strategy may work. uncapped balista with Rdm/Nin? A missing shot is much better than a shot hitting for 0 but affecting our status.

Yeah, I agree...that RDM wasn't the best. No Paralyze until after Apple was awake? No Gravity? No Slow? But he sure remembered to en- his dagger, because we saw what uber damage that was doing.

Myself, I just got back from a 60-cap Ballista in which I fought against a RDM who employed this guy's exact same tactics. Poison Potion, Carnage Elegy, Magic Finale, Blink, Stoneskin, and my trusty Terra's Staff with an Earth Crusher macro were all that I used, and I whomped him. Wish I had a video of it...I could swear that some of these RDM just forget that they're supposed to be the masters of enfeebling. :p

Jei but I would only adopt the trick for survival

Indeed, I wonder if shadow could assist us on the fight. Of course, Glendal san knows the in&out of Rdm and its really amazing to see sleeping arrow to cut thru stoneskin

to Apple Pie, hope he can provide some insight on counter-strategy :p

hmm reading from the text on apple's macro i think he shot a darksteel bolt to rid the stone skin after shadow binded and followed by an acid. Unless the text decieved me there's no sleeping bolt shot i think

That was truly a sight to see, I burst out laughing when he took him down from about 80% health.

Grendal's PC runs so smooth in Ballista, I lag so much in Ballista that I can't do anything. ><

I have a bad habit of taunting people as I kill them in Ballista as my Monk or Red Mage. Id have been yelling "I used a poison potion you flippin idiot!".
