  • Healing Magic

    Has anyone noticed any problems with skilling up Healing magic? I've just spent about 3 hours in a party as the main healer and I didn't even get a single 0.1 skill up in Healing Magic.

    It's far from capped and hasn't been for a long time. I only have it at 162 at the moment at level 65, another RDM in my party was at 196, I think they said but they weren't getting any skill ups either.

    I've had Elemental, Enfeebling, Enhancing and Dark skilling up beutifully, but Healing hasn't been touched.

    Something broken with it?

    I have the same problem. Healing Magic seems to just stay where it is for the longest time. Not sure how to lvl it up at all. I randomly cast Cure on myself while waiting for something, and eventualy I get a few points. The possibility of it getting an increase in a party while casting Cure 4 on a red HP member is the same as casting a Cure 1 on myself with full HP...

    Don't know what to do with it..

      (This is my first post here, so please bear with me a bit :sweat: )

      It is very hard skilling up Healing Magic by healing conventionally. You can, however, skill up much faster by using healing spell on undead. (Might be a plan on SE to get us help people getting ancient papyri and coffer keys?)

        I too have had MAD skill ups doing paper. CureI seems to do very well until near cap when CureII or III become better skill ups...i dont know why they made it this way but every other cast was a .1 up at least...so try that.

            The easiest way to get the skill up is go xping to Gustav Tunnel as RDM/WHM (LV67+ recommended). You will fight with both Doom Guards and Doom Warlocks there.

            You will often throw stats cures such as Blina and Paralyna (on those who are unfortunately paralyzed by Icespikes of Doom Warlocks). They will also raise your healing magic skill.

            In addition, I recommend you MB Cure IV on LV3 Light SC with your Light Staff. Although we have lower skill cap, it is often better than Fire III with Fire Staff equipped as for MP cost per performance.

            Again, you'll fight with skeltons in KRT all the way to LV75 once you reach LV72. You will cast more stats cures there and I'm sure your healing magic skill is going up fast.
