  • Hypothetical Gear (lvl 58) Question

    Ok, I was looking at my friends lvl 59 body piece:

    Black Cotehardie:
    Def: 39
    STR: 3 DEX: 2 VIT: -2 AGI: 3 INT: 2 MND: -3 CHR: -3
    Vs. Fire: -30 Vs. Ice: 3 Vs. Water: 3 VS. Lightning: 3 Vs. Earth: 3 Vs. Wind: 3 Vs. Dark: 3 Vs. Light: 3
    Convert HP to MP: 25

    In a sense, this would fit me fine, because i change at least 5 pieces of gear for INT and for MND each time I cast a corresponding spell. So for INT based Enfeebles I guess I could use this. Then I saw an extremely cheaper bodypiece that has same type of design and is level 58:

    Justaucorps:
    Def: 36
    HP: 10 STR: -1 DEX: -1 VIT: -1 AGI: -1 INT: 2 MND: 2 CHR: 2

    And looking at this, i realize that for the sake of doing my job, this would be better because It would enable me to only need one body piece and save a line of macro space for something like a corresonding wand.

    Then, talking to my WHM friend, I remembered that i get AF Body Piece at lvl 58. For those that were foolish enough to forget:

    Warlocks Tabard
    lvl 58
    Def: 44
    MP: 14 CHR: 5
    Spell Interruption Rate: -10% Enfeebling Magic Skill: 15

    Effectively giving us the Enfeebling level of a RDM 4 or so levels above us (actually, i hear that the values switch after lvl 60, so I'm not sure how much over the cap the AF body puts us over). I know that raising Enfeebling is exponentially better than raising MND or INT (hence, the reason the Enfeebling Torque is so popular). But is there any practical applications for the Cotehardie or the Jutsacorps outside of ppl w/o AF?

    Edit:
    Geez, how long do I have to wear this RSE for Altana sakes!?!? I noticed that this is more or less the best gear to use until AF (with the exception of the gear i swap in and out depending on the spell) and i just find the Brigidane pointless because I dont want to lose out on the MND and STR and HP from the RSE Body. Bust seriously, do i keep this gear till AF? Cause I think I would officially cry...

    Only reason to use the Cotehardie or the Jutsacorps is if you are obsessive over maxxing your INT for casting nukes. The Black Cotehardie also has some use as farming wear where the STR, DEX, and AGI bonuses can be useful.

    But if you are looking for some other body piece, you can consider the Glamor Jupon.

    Glamor Jupon
    Level: 50
    Defense: 27
    * Enhancing Magic Skill +3
    * Enfeebling Magic Skill +3
    * Elemental Magic Skill +3
    * Dark Magic Skill +3

    Of course, it is harder to obtain since you can't just buy it from the AH. It comes from Brygid's quest, and you need to kill the RDM Fomor in the Aquaducts to get it. The RDM Fomors being one of the harder ones to get to.

      Yeah, thats the Job specific armor they were talking about in this post here. The stats are VERY nice, and it would be an A+ equip if not for the look

      But in any case, as a lvl 50 RDM, what do I have to do do get this. I mean, i can easily figure out the quest specifics, but what are the lvl requirements to even attempt this. In other words, at the level where this is possible, is it even worth it?

      Edit: NVM, area is capped at lvl 40, i've read. So to rephrase the question, Doing all three Promyvions and forming a pt, is it really worth all that?
