  • En- spells with Additional Effect weapons?

Was thinking of leveling as a RDM/NIN (no flames please ^^) for fun and was wondering if the en- effects stacked with weapons with additional effects (e.g. Fire Sword with fire damage). If not, which has priority?

    Thanks.

They don't stack at all. En-spell procs everytime, no chance of add effect going off. :spin:

Although there are a few swords I havent been able to try... Guispire, etc.

Well, that sucks. I actually wanted RDM/NIN to do ballista 40.

Any suggestions for a 2nd sword (I assume Buzzard Tuck would best as main?)? Or would a dagger's speed be best?

Rdm doesn't need ninja sub for Ballista, we're one of the best jobs for Ballista with or without it. For Ballista a faster weapon with a leveled skill is best for taking off an enemies shadows but pales to a simple stonega1 spell.

stonega1, enemy casts utsusemi:ni, firega, enemy casts utsusemi:ichi, stonega1, paralyze, slow, kill, kill, kill.

Diaga is the fastest spell for killing nin shadows, and it lowers there defence.

No Ifs Ands or Buts about it.

How about Corrosive Baselard? Its DEF down effect (-12.5%, the same as that of Acid Bolt) hardly kicks on in XP PT but it sometimes does in Ballista. Because we don't have access to Cyclone at LV40, we should have a sword on a main slot and have a dagger on a sub slot.

As for NIN sub, it's not always necessary but I like it. When we don't belong to the allience or PT, we're not hit by -ga spells that is targeted to a member of alliience or PT.

My default sub is, by the way, WHM in LV60 and uncapped. I know we can melee freely but I like to work as a healer because there's almost noone willing to do that although healers plays an important role.

I eat either Fish Chiefkabob or Shallops Tropicale and arm Earth Staff. Always have Phalanx, Shockspikes and Stoneskin (manually remove it when I am hit by Sleepga to turn poison on again). It is fun to see those with one-handers start to attack me but they turn around immediately after they only do 0 damage for a while. Shockspikes often stuns them, too.
