quote:Yeah we don't hit the base damage as much as a WAR or DRK, but a WAR or DRK cant add Damage Spikes to himself, add Elemental Damage to his swords, Haste himself, Cure himself, SLeep links, Reduce damage taken to him to 0, Enfeeble the enemy, etc....
Im talking about farming+soloing Too Weak and Easy Preys. Just about everyone my level cant outfarm me except DRGs and THF/RNG and RNG/THF.

Edit: Oops, also meant to quote the "But WAR and DRK aren't support mages so why would they, thats like comparing WHM and NIN" line

    Windurst Rank 10. ZM14. CoP M5-2.
RDM->62 (AF Completed), MNK->62 (AF Completed).

Silly sword mages? lol. I guess if you compare us to actual sword weilders. :p

But how bad can it be? I have a macro that switches me to my sword, and changes my equipment so that I have +2(or so) STR, +4 DEX, +8 ATT, and +15 accuracy. This is of course after I have done my job of Dia, Gravity, and -AGI (BLM spell), so I would not be missing any more than a normal DD in the party normaly.

Sure I can nuke instead, but I need the MP for an upcoming Refres/Dispel. Sure I can rest, but I will get up to cast soon. Sure I can back-up heal, but I can do that and swing my sword at the same time anyways (Attack is done automatically). Maybe I can stand a bit until the moment is right for what ever needs to be done next, or I can pull out my sword and give the mob a few wacks with no penalty to my MP or duties.

So far, I have not found a clear-cut cycle of things that I do. I am always evaluating and re-evaluating my actions depending on the battle situation (mob, party members' HP and MP, enfeebling state, chain number, etc, etc).

I say keep that head clear and always think not only "outside of the box", but without a "box" AT ALL.

        PS:
Ok, this is seperate from what I was saying about melleeing:

how many RDM thought of sleeping/pulling the next mob on the chain since the mob at hand is almost dead? Its the pullers job right? But if you arrange it, you might be doing the puller a favour b/c he can use the extra time to damage and kill the mob at hand (THF and RNG are usualy pullers right?) Its something that is there and up for the taking! Not only Jack of all trades, but multitask all the way!!

^^My fear of that would be the mob buffing itself, or the Refresh cycle having to be started again, or having a small amount of MP and needing those precious ticks before the mob dies to keep me going until Convert is back up.
          I'm not saying it's a bad idea though. :D

LOL, this is the silliest thread I read in a long time....well since I last read the flame/whine DRG forum.

Ok, How hard do RDM hit normally?, I'm not saying RDM should be a melee class, I'm just wondering how hard they hit, thanks.
Come on dude, no way your serious.
Friggin...such a vague question the best answer to give you is go play rdm and go get hit!

Wow, you sure know how to prove a point

How is the fact that my DRG is level 10 relevant? And yes you can see damage from other people's Wyvern's...

              Good job

I had a point? Was that supposed to be a flame?!

I had a question and a comment. "Realy? How did you check that?" was the question, and the comment "Your DRG is only lvl 10, and you can't see the damage done by an other person's Wyvern..." was to point out the origins of the question...

And frankly the others did the job of addressing my question and backing up your comment much better than you did...

Don't read too much into comments like that. Sometimes people are not saying things to be sarcastic, but are actualy being sincere.
