Hume to Taru Camparison? (MP)

Hey, I plan on making a RDM. I wanted to know though if the lower MP of the Hume compared to the Taru is really that bad? I don't wanna be gimped in the MP area as a Hume, but I want to have the extra HP and STR.

No, it isn't that bad. As a matter of fact, the majority of RDM is hume on Gilgamesh server. It is true that we, tarus, have some advantage but Hume can make it up with their RSE and other MP+ gears.

I'd be a hume RDM if I could change my race.. At lv72+ with Errant and Zenith gear, hume end up having a much better hp/mp convert ratio.. Right now, I'm at 800ish HP and 900ish MP x.x;

How do you mean? 800 HP / 900 MP converted means that your MP would be 800 after convert. For a Hume, which has more HP but less MP, the convert would be ???

(I don't know, but my guess is that the HP would overfill the MP but the MP Maximum would still be less than a Taru's 800 MP. So why would you be wishing you were a Hume?)

End-game hume / mithra RDMs with gorgeous HP to MP gears are eventually able to have something like 900 HP / 900 MP while we, tarus, have something like 800 HP / 1,000 MP with the same equipment. Although we have more MP, hume / mithra RDMs have better conversion ratio that is closer to 1 : 1. That's the reason sekaran said so. Well, not a big difference anyway.

im miffed as to why you (taru rdm) guys would bother with the thought of most the crimson/zenith, and other than the mask off crimson set, none of the abjuration set has any use for me,
simply there are alternatives that replicate these items,
the other races pretty much have to wear these items to finally enjoy the same ratio that we have enjoyed since lvl 40,

i personally do not see the need to have more mp than i do hp,
im around 900/900

regarding the crimson mask, our AFII hat blows it out of the water,

crimson/azure gear is for walking around in town,
i consider it the same as the optical hat i got last night,

my LS works on point system for HNM drop acquisition,
the non taru rdms waste thier points on these items,
me (when i can bother to show up to events and actually get points) i will be just cashing in or saving for Bune and that damn sword.

Well, I'm not interested in any of Zenith gears but with my regular PT gears, my MP is already more than my HP, something like 850 / 900 when subbing BLM.

No, I'm happy with taru. I won't envy Hume about this.

AF2 Hat does blow Crimson out of the water.. but Crimson is nice until you can get it. I saw the abjuration drop once, but it went to another RDM. The only piece of Zenith I have is the mittens, which I use exclusively for MB/Nuke purposes. Here's a list of my HP/MP regarding certain situations:

Enfeebles - HP: 835 MP: 897
Nuke/MB - HP:785 MP: 949
Convert - HP: 865 MP: 869

Alot of gear is swapped for me to get as near to a 1:1 ratio for convert. I use Sweet Rice Cakes as my only food, except when soloing/melee which I use fishkabobs or meatkabobs pending situation.

At 73, as a Hume, I can get around 900mp after melon pie +1, and my hp is 976 or so. Bought a Blue Cotehardie a couple weeks back, which helps as far as MP goes. Next on my list is Astral Shield or Astral Aspis. I used to have some Taru envy when I was lower level, but I no longer suffer from it. Hume all the way!

Of course, I don't have all this MP gear on when debuffing or nuking....
