<t> Perform selected action on the current target. About as simple as they get.

<bt> Perform selected action on the current battle target, whether you have it currently targeted or not (i.e. use ability on closest mob with its name displayed in red)

<st> - Select Target. Allows you to cycle through all legal targets (player characters, monsters, NPCs) when used the attached command, whether it's a spell, job ability, or other

<stpc> - Select Target Player Character. Allows you to cycle through other player characters only. Skips over everything else. Useful for buffs and such (that Gobbie didn't need Protect, now did he?)

<stnpc> Select Target Non-Player Character. Same as above, only NPCs only instead of player characters. More limited use. Might be handy for a sleep macro, but I dunno. I personally don't use this one much.

<lastst> Performs action on last selected target. Useful for party chat notifications in conjunction with above <st...> macros, and also if you have a combination macro with Protect and Shell (i.e. Protect <stpc>, Shell <lastst>).

<me> Perform selected action on yourself.

<p0> - <p5> Perform selected action on party member. <p0> is yourself. <p5> is the bottom person listed in the lower right corner party status window. 1-4 are in between, in descending order. Useful for Cure spells and such, if space is not an issue.

There might be more, these are the only ones I've ever encountered/used/can remember off the top of my head.

<stnpc> is best used by jobclasses that engage in combat.

noteable uses are with provoke, it's useful if you have a second provoke macro thus you can stay engaged on your current mob and use <stnpc> to target any adds for provoke.

BSTs can also use this for charms. In case their pets uncharm during a fight they can use this to recharm their pets w/o having to pause to put away a weapon and retarget.
