low lvl rdm elvaan equips

hey im a lvl 7 elvaan rdm. i know i have low mp compared to other races of my job, and i would like to know what rings/ earrings/ mis. armor i need in order to compensate for that. right now astral rings are out of the question for me, because they cost 100,000-200,000 at my server's auction house. i was thinking about getting two onyx earrings or rings. they cost 2000 and are a reasonable price for me and at lvl10 thats not to far away for me to use.
i would also like to know if it would be a good idea to purchase eremites rings, 2 if possible and then just purchase 2 onyx earrings. is this a good combination? i really enjoy being an elvaan rdm, and nothing would sway me to change jobs, so i fully understand that i would need to update my character with alot items just to compete with other rdms out here.

Hairpins are your friend. get a silver hairpin, i think it's lvl 20ish. you have a bit of time to lvl and get one, but trust me it's worth the wait. onyx earrings are your best bet for more mp right at that lvl as is pie. purchase stacks of pie from the auction house, they last for about half an hour and give you +20 mp (apple pie). just remember they're an exhaustable item though. some eremite and saintly rings would be a better choice for your ring slots. you'll want to get 2 of each anyway, so you can macro them into your spells.

get a brass hairpin i think its level 10 but gives +10 mp. dont bother getting the onyx earrings. its not worth it imo. for like 2k-4k each and only giving an extra 2 or 3mp isnt worth it. and food is your friend. if i remember right a 5k stack of pumpkin pies give you and extra 40mp. oh and get 2 saintly rings and eremites. for a whm spells swap on your saintlys and for your black magic spells put on the eremites.

I bought Eremite's and Saintly's rings. As for earrings? I think earrings suck until about Lv.55. That being said, I still bought two Energy Earrings. Made no damn sense since I paid 24k for 6 extra MP.

But at the lower levels, there isn't much that gives any real amount of MP. There is a hairpin you can wear, but at Lv.10 is when you pretty should really grab one. (Brass Hairpin HP-4 MP+10) So we rely on food. At that stage I believe I used mainly Melon pies, though some times I would use Apple pies. (Now I'm hooked on Pumpkin pies for the most part. Rolanberry pies don't stack. )

But at the lower levels, being Elvaan forces you to learn how to manage your MP must faster then other races.

A lot of RDMs wear tunics, unfortunately this means you can't wear a hairpin. So I've never worn a tunic. I always go with something that allows me to wear a hairpin.

Another suggestion. Once you get the fame, and Lv.27 find some Lv.40 friends to help you get your RSE. I believe the entire set of Elvaan RSE gives like MP+75-80. (Some of the pieces give HP+ as well, but it's not much. The MP is the stuff we want!) I can't remember the exact total, but those will come in handy, and get lots of wear.

ok, i ended up following some of your suggestions and got myself 2 eremite rings (they didnt have any saintly rings available in my ah) and a brass hairpin. then i ended up buying the scale armor set and a rabbit mantle. i got all the spells for lvl 10 aside from barwater(too much gil)and barpoison(wasnt available).
was buying scale armor a wise decision or did i just waste my money? i hope not. i have just enough to buy a bee spatha to update my sword and i will do that another time.

As an elvaan RDM you can melee through dunes without a problem, really. Just remember to rest and don't worry about saving TP. I don't think scale armor or a sword is a waste of gil. If you're from Sandoria and have your starter ring, just use that and don't worry about saintly rings. You'll mostly be a backup healer and light meleer in dunes and elvaan MND is more than enough to make your cures cap quickly. If you do start to have trouble landing enfeebs, get a wand for the +INT/+MND and swap it into your spell macros.

There really are no good earrings until 30. Then you can use Morions or, if you sub blm, the Wizard earrring. I am still using both of these at 56.
