Back from Trial by Wind. I was exhausted after I helped my friend, NIN/WAR, to get Ungur Boomerang for 5 hours in Gustav today and didn't feel like going farming. I don't know why but I decided to solo Garuda although it was lightsday.

Well, I won but I made a big mistake. Because I saw someone wrote that Energy Drain had worked, I decided to use dagger, Hornet Needle. I searched on AH in Jeuno and got as many eva+ gears as possible. I set up new macros and went to the Cloister of Gales.

I was shocked to see Energy Drain only gave me 3 - 4MP. I was fooled... However, I didn't go there to be kicked out. I did as much as I can and finally defeated her.

I recorded a movie but the first half is so embarrassing and I don't want to show this to you guys. So, here's the last half of the movie after I used convert.
    http://www5.sppd.ne.jp/grendal/FF11/garuda.wmv

I must admit I cheated - used chainspell + Blizzard III to end this embarrassing fight as early as possible. Although the battle time was exactly 14 minutes 0 seconds (as you see on the movie), there's nothing artistic. I'll try this again.

Anyway, here's the statics taken by FFrep.

    Melee
    Total: 1717
    Maximum: 20
    Minimum: 5
    Average: 9.3 (including criticals)
    Accuracy: 95.3% (183/193)

    WS:Evisceration
    Total: 215
    Maximum: 81
    Minimum: 65
    Average: 71.7 (3/3)

    Enblizzard
    Total: 2689
Maximum: 23 (I armed Fencer Ring after she used her 2H)
    Minimum: 9
    Average: 17.9 (150/150)

    Blizzard III
    Total: 4,473 (497 * 9) - No resist.

    Evasion
    Evasion: 47.1% (74/157)
    Parry: 1.9% (3/157)
    Shield: 3.2% (5/157)

        Leviathan and Garuda

Today I was bored enough to go solo the last two avatars:

They were harder only because of the heal WS, they took 2 & 3 minutes longer ( G & L ) than the others.

I've had to convert for the first time in an avatar battle Vs Leviathan

Hmmm, thinking about it, I took so long on Garuda because blink absorbed a Blizzard III and because I forgot to eat the Mithkabobs

With full enhancing and proper bar-spell, no avatar astral flow had ever penetrated stoneskin ><

          Here is Leviathan :

          - Dont take to slow, blind or paralyze
          - Normal hit rate, normal double attack rate
          - Defense comparable to the others.
          - He is the hardest to get to, you need a Paintbrush of souls (also needed for Zilart Mission 4, to enter the correct part of den of rancor where the cloister of tides is)

          Abilities :

          - Great fall : Bypasses shadows, does dmg.
          - Spinning Attack : Multi hit attack that can be taken by shadows.
          - Spring water : Heal WS, healed between 600 and 950hp.
          - Slowga : Area effect slow, harmless as we always should hasted when fighting an avatar (as haste effects recast timers)
          - Tidal wave : its 2hr. Standard faire, kills shadows and burns stoneskin.

Leviathan seems to like its heal ws a lot more than Garuda, often spamming it the first part of the fight. Also it tends to heal for more hp than Garuda's. Thus i would consider Leviathan harder than Garuda on average.

          Leviathan > Garuda > Shiva > Ramuh > Ifrit > Titan

A rather simple trick that can save a nice chunk of xp when fighting avatars solo, is to take the avatars down to the crystal where you enter.

You can also exit again through this crystal, and once you say yes to the exit, it immediatly stops the avater from attacking you, even before you actually start to 'zone' out.

Also for those trying this the first time, a reraiser gorget can come in handy when solo. Its a coral gorget with 10 shots of reraise, costs about 29k on Shiva atm.

Getting Raises in some of the Cloisters are not easy... so a reraiser is a good investment when in doubt.

Well thats about it, all avatars soloed with a poor mans build at 74.

Hope the information in this thread will prove itself useable for future rdms. I will edit the topic so that it will be easier to find for those seeking avatar information.

            Congraturations!

It is now proved that all avators except for Fenrir can be soloed by just one RDM/NIN without medicines.

By the way, Reraise of Reraise Gorget is said to have the same effect of Raise II. If that's really true, it's a nice-to-have item for solo lovers.

Well, it's off topic but I'm wondering if we're able to beat Ma'at without casting any elemental spells (= only with melee, buffs and debuffs). You know we can anytime challenge to him when we get another testimony after we finish Gentak 5. I should LV to 75 anyway, hehe

                Record

I was surprised, Garuda dropped so fast today I could not believe it, and in record time: 13 minutes 29 seconds.

The healing WS's are pure luck, this time she didn't heal at all ^^

                A bit:

Ramuh: Thunder, weak to Earth, thus Slow sticks 100%

Titan: Stone, weak to Air, thus Gravity sticks 100%

Garuda: Air, weak to Ice, thus Paralyze sticks 100%

Nothing else sticks to any other avatar ( 100 % resistance to all elements, 100% weakness to opposed element )

                Luck ^^

Gorget reraise also lasts 2 hours. Nice to know it is Raise 2 :spin:

Poison II should stick to Ifrit for what its worth.

And Dia/Bio II sticks to them all.
